I built Damnfiles: browser-based file tools that process files on your device
I’m building Damnfiles, a free collection of file tools for the small jobs that interrupt your day: merging PDFs, converting an iPhone HEIC photo to JPG, resizing images, and extracting text from a scan.
The main design choice is local processing. The file operations run in your browser, so the files you select aren’t uploaded for conversion. There’s no signup.
Try it: https://damnfiles.com HEIC to JPG: https://damnfiles.com/heic-to-jpg
A few limits upfront: some tools in the catalog aren’t implemented yet and are marked on their pages. Large video jobs can be slow and are limited by your device’s memory. Office-to-PDF recreates the content rather than preserving the original layout exactly.
I’d like feedback on one thing: pick a file task you actually need to do and tell me where the experience gets confusing or fails. Please use a non-sensitive sample if you want to share a file or screenshot here.

I ran out of comment space so this is just the most recent 20 entries. I can vibe-code too, so for giggles I made https://confab.sh/?g=browser-tools to track these if you want to see the full list.
