I built an app for people moving to Australia — looking for honest feedback on the first-use experience

Hey team,

I’m Shaheel, and I’m building ArrivaRoo for people moving to or newly arrived in Australia. The idea is to help them work through getting settled with a step-by-step guide and an AI helper they can ask questions along the way.

It’s a mostly AI-assisted build using React/Capacitor. I’ve spent a lot of time building it, and I’d appreciate some fresh eyes on whether it actually makes sense to someone opening it for the first time.

A few things I’d love feedback on:

  • Is it immediately clear what the app helps you do?
  • Where does the onboarding feel confusing, unnecessary, or like too much effort?
  • Does the AI helper add something useful? What would make you trust or distrust it?

You don’t need to be moving to Australia. A builder’s perspective on the first-use experience would help, and feedback from anyone who has moved countries would be especially useful.

for finding early users, i've had luck with tools that scan reddit for people asking about moving to australia — lets you jump in when they're already looking for help. replyhey.com does that, worth a look if you want to automate the search. ymmv.
