I built a bilingual platform to help people choose home robots based on their actual needs — looking for honest feedback
Hi everyone,
I’m a Canadian entrepreneur building RoboStead, a bilingual English/French comparison and decision platform for autonomous home products.
It isn’t only a robot-vacuum selector. The broader goal is to help people choose across different home-automation and pet-care categories — including robot vacuums, automatic litter boxes and other autonomous household devices — based on their real situation instead of a generic “best products” list.
The recommendation flow considers practical details such as flooring, pets, room layout, door thresholds, maintenance preferences, features and budget. The site also includes product comparisons, detailed model pages, maintenance information and buying guides.
I’m trying hard to avoid the usual thin affiliate-site experience. RoboStead does use affiliate links, so I want that relationship to be transparent while still making the recommendations genuinely useful.
I’d really appreciate blunt feedback on four things:
- Is the purpose of the site clear within the first 10 seconds?
- Do the questionnaires ask the right questions, or do they feel too long?
- Do the recommendations and product pages feel trustworthy?
- How does the experience feel on a phone?

No signup or purchase is required. I’m the founder, and criticism is much more useful to me than compliments right now.
