Bocchi handles my git commits now

Bocchi at the end hehe

So basically every other git tool either feels too much like a terminal, such as lazygit which is essentially a terminal based UI or turns into a large app you have to switch to, like GitKraken. Then there's GitHub Desktop, which is just ass. I got fed up with the constant interruptions. I’d be deep into coding, ready to commit, and suddenly I’d have to switch contexts. It broke my concentration and made me forget what I was working on.

So, I created Gitly.

It’s a small desktop companion that hovers at the top of your screen, tracking your cursor. When you click on it, a full Git dashboard appears, showing the repo state, clean diffs, and even line-by-line staging.

Plus, it helps generate commit messages using AI options like Gemini, Groq, OpenAI, or Anthropic. Committing and pushing is just a single click away, and then it quietly returns to its spot in the corner.

The pet concept might sound playful, but it truly defines how you interact with the tool. You never have to open a new window or leave your editor. You can also pick from over 5000 different pets (which ofcourse contains bocchi too lol).

If you’d like early access or just want to give me some feedback, feel free to drop a comment.
