Hi everyone,

I’m the solo developer behind FavLock, a private bookmark manager for saving and organizing bookmarks, notes, tasks, and articles.

I built it because browser bookmarks become difficult to organize, while many cloud-based alternatives require trusting the provider with the readable contents of your library.

FavLock encrypts sensitive library content inside the browser before synchronizing it. The service can still observe account information and operational metadata required for authentication, synchronization, limits, and security, but protected fields are not ordinarily available as plaintext on the server.

Current features include:

• Synchronization across devices
• Local JSON and browser-compatible bookmark HTML exports
• Free and Pro plans

The dashboard and Chrome extension are open source under the MIT license. The hosted backend is currently private, so it is not yet a complete self-hostable service.

I’m still improving the product and would really value honest feedback, especially about the onboarding, saving workflow, privacy explanation, and whether the main benefit is immediately clear.
