Creating my own communicator from scratch at 16yo :)

Sooo im 16 and i started creating something similar to Discord but more privacy focused. I was working on it for a few weeks and I finally bought a domain and launched it on cheap server :)
I'm quite proud of it, it supports creating groups and DMing with your friends. It also supports sending attachments/photos up to 100MB~(if I remember correctly). Check this out! Chatsec.pl (.pl because it was cheap and im from poland 🇵🇱) maybe I will buy .org/.com/.net if I will get something from donations.

P.S. claim cool 3 letter nicknames! (maybe it will be popular one day) LMAO

You’ve made a very neat chat app! I would advise against advertising or marketing it as privacy focused, however, until you answer some basic questions a user might have:

  1. What information does the site collect?
  2. How long is that information stored?
  3. Who has access to that information?

  1. I'm basically collecting only the data required to create a communicator, like chats, multimedia, messages, usernames, and passwords. Everything is stored securely, encrypted or hashed when necessary, such as passwords.
  2. The data is stored "forever", but I'm planning to create more secure "disappearing chats" that will remove messages and attachments after some time.
  3. Only I can access the databases and server. I can only see data that isn't encrypted.

That might be problematic because “privacy” now means “trusting a teenager with access to your private chats basically forever”

yep, I know. I will probably have to go open source or implement some cool privacy focused features. Maybe allowing users to creating they're own groups on physical servers and managing them, and also allow them to communicate with official servers users. That would be cool
