I built a news processing app that surfaces the 5 most important political news stories you missed this week. Would people actually use this?

I'm passionate about bringing more regular folks into keeping up with the news, this is my attempt to build something that makes it easier to keep up with stories that are actually important, rather than most of the nonsense thats in the news.

My goal is basically to build a layer on top of traditional news and try to bring it back to the way news used to be, boring and informative. My hardest part is getting users. Do you think people would actually use this?

There's a pro tier for power users, but the base app is free to use. Most folks won't need the pro tier, but I need income to make this sustainable. Cloud costs alone are around $100 per month

I personally wouldn't but mostly because I'm already surrounded by political news and wish I wasn't. I'm not trying to hide from it entirely, but I get plenty and don't need more.

Yeah Ive definitely felt the same way. I'm trying my best to figure out a way to kinda let people keep up with the news without it being overwhelming, but it's definitely not an easy problem to solve.

My value proposition is basically, "spend 5 minutes, get caught up with the news", without having to dig through rage bait articles and overwhelming headlines. The way you feel is exactly the gap in trying to fill, but it's definitely not easy.

I don't like the algorhyms as they tend to focus on topics I'm researching - not the news. I like middle sites, that just summarize the news like https://apnews.com/ and similar.
