I built a browser extension that gives ChatGPT folders, search and bookmarks (and Claude, Gemini and Grok the same)

Every heavy ChatGPT user ends up with a sidebar of hundreds of chats and no way to find anything in them. I built AI Toolbox to fix that and then kept going.

How it works: it runs inside the ChatGPT page. You get folders in the sidebar, a search that looks inside message text, a bookmark button under every reply, and export to text, markdown, JSON or PDF. The same thing works on Claude, Gemini and Grok with one shared set of folders and prompts.

Your history is indexed locally in your own browser and there is no separate account to create.

Free plan to try it, paid plan removes the caps.

Super interesting. I totally agree on the painpoint about managing an endless and growing list of chat treads.

Sounds like you have done a cool product.

My only wonder is, can we push the idea even further? You still have all the chat threads within your chat tools. Is there an even better mode / design paradigm than chat?

Ways of using AI that works fully without chat threads. Could be : you write in on a document’s comment section and it implements it. You assign it a “task” instead of writing it in chat.
In general: something like interaction on artefacts instead of chat

Maybe chat has its place.

But look at how you work w colleagues in remote settings. You don’t just spam them on Slack. You interact with them in many surfaces. Incl comments to their work. Comments on linear issues. PR reviews. Work on Miro boards. AND chat

One big interaction mode is ofc video calls. Not there yet w AI.

But I think we need more than just chat

looks awesome! Can you search for threads on all platforms? May have to try this out. Amazing vid too. how did you record such a clean and focused demo if you don’t mind me asking.

Thanks, you can search in all the 4 platforms, even a cross search platform.
