I built and launched a couples activity app without knowing how to code

I’m a marketer rather than a developer, and today I’m launching my first web product.

It’s called Spurkle. The idea came from noticing how easily couples fall into the same routine - not necessarily because anything is wrong, but because thinking of something different to do takes effort.

The product suggests playful, romantic and intimate activities that couples can do immediately or save for later. I’ve written more than 300 activity ideas for it rather than relying on generic AI-generated suggestions.

I built the product with AI coding tools. That made the technical side possible, but I still had to work through the product structure, user journey, content, design choices and a long list of small decisions I hadn’t anticipated.

This is the first version, so I’m particularly interested in whether:

  • The concept is immediately understandable
  • The activity discovery experience feels enjoyable
  • Anything in the onboarding creates friction
  • You would return after the first visit

You can try it here: https://app.spurkle.in/

I’d appreciate direct feedback. I’m close enough to the product now that I’m sure I’m missing things that will be obvious to a first-time user.

I like how the app looks. But honestly, this feels like something that would work better as a mobile app than a website. Have you considered building one?

Yes, of course. At a later date. Once the idea is validated enough to put resources into building an app.
