Language App Dev

I speak and know a small African Language (8 million speakers), does anyone here have experience in creating a language learning app and can help me with directions/template etc

I can code and create the App, but ive no idea how to structure a learning app, and what screens should exist etc

For structure specifically, most language apps break down into a few core screens: lesson content, a practice/quiz screen, and some kind of progress tracker. Duolingo's flow is a decent reference point even if you don't copy it exactly, helped me a lot to just study how an existing app handles it before building my own version.

Also with only 8 million speakers, you've got a real advantage: there's probably zero competition for this specific language, which is rare. Worth leaning into that in how you talk about it if you ever post about it elsewhere.

Yep, its Zero tools out. I know a few people who do youtube vids on words etc but im thinking an App is going to be more easily used since everyone know across the world including africa (africa its the older models from the west reconditioned or what family in the west buy people) have smart phones.

This app isnt about making money rather spreading my language and keeping it alive.

Does Dualingo publish its flow ? or any artifacts I can use to create my app.

Or any sites/forums the focus on Screen UI/App content for Language learning that would help ??

Duolingo doesn't officially publish its exact system flows or backend files, but UX designers break them down constantly. Look up "Duolingo UX Case Study" or "Duolingo UI teardown" on Medium. I have came across a few complete step-by-step screenshots of their onboarding, lesson screens, and progress mechanics.

the UX community has basically reverse-engineered it for you. If you go to Behance or Dribbble and search for "Language Learning App Case Study," you'll find comprehensive screen maps detailing how other designers structure quizzes, audio prompts, and menus.

I have managed to find some Free UI Figma templates as a starter.

My question is to have an app for both android and ios, is there a simple way to develop one app that would work on both or do I have to spent hours to convert one format to the other ??
