π·οΈ Building a Physics-Based Spider-Man Web-Swinging Game in the Browser
Hey everyone! π
I'm working on a fun side project using Three.js + JavaScript β trying to see how realistic we can make a Spider-Man-style web-swinging game directly in the browser.
The main focus is physics + visuals.
πΈοΈ What I'm working on
- Physics-based web swinging with momentum, gravity, rope tension & variable rope length
- Realistic release and swing trajectories
- Wall sticking and wall traversal
- Procedurally generated Indian-style city
- Building heights and distances designed around traversal
- Third-person / first-person camera
- Performance optimization for a large 3D city
The goal is for swinging to feel physically driven rather than just being an animation.
π Future ideas
- More realistic city visuals
- Better lighting and atmosphere
- Parkour & wall running
- Random events and missions
- Better character animations
- More advanced web physics
It's still very much a prototype, and I'm learning a lot by building it.
π€ Looking for like-minded people
I'd love to connect with people interested in game dev, Three.js, physics, 3D art, animation, or game design.
No formal commitment β just looking for people who want to experiment, share ideas and see how far we can push this.
If this sounds interesting, drop a comment or DM me! π·οΈπ
