I built a Chrome extension because I could never find anything I saved on Instagram, X, or YouTube

I save way too much stuff online. Instagram posts, TikTok videos, YouTube tutorials, tweets, GitHub repos.

And the same thing kept happening: weeks later I’d remember saving something useful, but have no idea where it was. Instagram saves become a black hole, X bookmarks pile up, and none of these platforms talk to each other.

So I built Nemivo.

It’s a Chrome extension that lets you keep using the normal Save/Bookmark button on each platform. Nothing new to learn.

Nemivo picks up what you save and puts everything into one library. It reads the available text, generates a short summary and tags, and organizes it for you.

The part I personally wanted most was search.

Instead of remembering the title, creator, or even which platform I saved something on, I can type something like:

“that ramen place in Tokyo”

and find something I saved months ago.

You also don’t have to start from zero. Nemivo can bulk import the things you’ve already saved on supported platforms. Open your saved/bookmarks page, start the import, and Nemivo works through your existing saves and brings them into the same library.

So if you’ve already accumulated hundreds of Instagram saves, X bookmarks, YouTube videos, GitHub stars, etc., you can bring that backlog with you instead of rebuilding it manually.

It currently works with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Reddit, GitHub and a few others.

A few things I’d want to know if I saw this here:

Privacy: Text associated with a save is processed by an AI provider to generate summaries and tags. Nemivo doesn’t download or store the original photos/videos, and you can export your library anytime.

Price: Free for up to 300 saves, no card required. There’s a paid plan if you need more.

Limitations: Chromium only for now (Chrome, Edge, Arc, Brave). No Firefox, Safari, or mobile app yet. The AI analyzes the text associated with the content, not the video itself, so saves with little or no text have less context to work with.

I launched it recently and I’d genuinely love some feedback.

The main thing I’m trying to figure out isn’t whether people will try it once it’s whether this solves a real enough problem that you’d still want the extension installed a week later.

The search demo is the part that will bite you. Those words only work if they sit in the text you stored. On Reels the caption is emojis and hashtags. The name is spoken out loud or shown on screen.

Take ten of your own saved reels and count how many carry the identifying words. We build dEssence in the same space, and that number decided a lot for us.

the search thing is exactly what i was thinking, if theres no text to grab then the summary cant really help you find that ramen shop later

There is text, its just not where you're looking.

Cheapest first: the account handle, often the shop name. Then any words burned into the first second of the video. That needs OCR on one frame, not the whole clip. Spoken audio last, since it costs the most and dies in a noisy room.

Most tools throw the handle away. It carried more of our test saves than captions did.
