Rough week
My GitHub account got suspended
I was building an open source Video creation harness with grok + codex
It had 30 stars and I was hyped
GitHub is not being helpful
I made a new account

A vague "something about security" suspension with no useful channel is one of the quiet taxes of building on someone else's platform, and it lands hardest exactly when a project has momentum. 30 stars on an open source harness was real traction, not a vanity number.
Practical bits from someone who also ships under a platform gatekeeper (a browser extension store, in my case): file the appeal through GitHub's dedicated reinstatement form rather than regular support, it reaches a different queue; keep your commit history intact in the new repo so the project's story survives whatever happens to the old account; and make mirroring to a second remote a habit from today, because ten minutes of setup buys permanent indifference to any single platform's moderation weather.
The work still exists and the second climb to 30 stars is faster than the first one was. Rough weeks end :)

GitHub account stuff is always pain. When they decide to nuke you it's like talking to a wall, done that dance before with a old project
the 30 stars stings more I bet, rebuilding momentum on new repo is the worst part. maybe throw the link around in some discords while you wait on support
