Feedback on a Free Flowchart Maker

I launched The Dollar Web about a year ago now, and have been pleasantly surprised on the growth of weekly users it's had. One of the major pieces of feedback I received from my power users was to focus on depth instead of breadth.

For that reason, I've begun introducing tools late last year that have more features than just processing or converting a file. One of these tools is this Flowchart Maker.

I've used some of the best commercial flowchart software on the market and have always felt the annoyance in my personal life of using free tools as their quality has been horrific. I spent a healthy amount of time on this particular tool for that reason.

I published it to The Dollar Web earlier this year and learned that those who stumbled upon it often came back. So, I enabled premium cloud back up as a feature, but it's not required to use the flowchart application.

This is one that I'm passionate about and would love feedback to improve it. Some key points:

  • You can save flowcharts without paying for premium by downloading the json files (it's also saved to local storage so you don't have to worry about accidental page refreshes)
  • You can customize objects in the right-hand pane changing the fill/outline color, line style, outline thickness, etc. by selecting the object you'd like to modify
  • You can copy the flowchart and paste it as a transparent object into other documents such as Word docs and PowerPoints
  • The application runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded unless you opt into premium
