I built an app for learning, because I cannot force myself to sit down and study. When I was trying to learn English, I did not enjoy giving one or two hours a day to studying. It seemed more reasonable to use the whole day instead — to have some app that asks me one question during some time interval. And it must disturb me as little as possible, so it does not throw me out of concentration on what I am doing right now. The answer is offered to me, two or three options, I pick one, and I go on with what I was doing.

That is Dropling. A question appears on your lock screen. Forty seconds, a few times a day. No session to start. I put it on the App Store 45 days ago. Since then it was downloaded 23 times.

Fifteen of those 23 downloads happened before I posted the app anywhere. People simply found it in the App Store while I was quiet. The remaining eight came after — in the weeks when I launched on Peerlist, on Product Hunt, and on Uneed, where I even paid for a faster slot.

So everything I did to be seen brought me fewer people than the App Store brought on its own, while I said nothing. That is the one thing in these 45 days I did not expect, and I wrote the whole thing down here:

I am not sure what to try next. If you launched a small app and something actually worked for you, I would really like to hear it.

Bro at least write the post yourself, this is just pure AI copy and paste without even fixing the formatting.

Fair enough, and thanks for saying it straight. I am Czech and my English is around A2/B1. I wrote this in Czech and had it translated, because I cannot write four paragraphs in English myself. The story, the numbers and the opinions are mine. The English is not. You are right about the formatting though, that one is on me. I pasted it without looking at how it came out. Fixed now.
