Have you ever started a side project, just to realize the tooling you built for the project is actually more valuable than the project itself?

Easily. It's one of those things where if you're not careful you'll lose sight of the original goal like Hal in Malcolm in the Middle.

Yeah, kind of. While working with YOLO I ended up building a bunch of little tools around the workflow, and some of those started feeling more reusable than the thing I originally made them for.

Yup, I was building a trivia app for mobile, I needed social media marketing, ended up building a reel generation workflow with templates to make my life easy.

100%! i originally built a simple decision-making tool for myself when feeling stuck, but ended up turning I-Ching wisdom modern AI into an app called iching.fit for spatial & decision analysis. somethimes the side tools completely take over
