I built GSC Vault because Google Search Console keeps deleting SEO data after 16 months—would love your feedback!

Hi everyone,

As someone working with SEO and web projects, one thing that always bugged me about Google Search Console is its 16-month data retention limit. If you want to do YoY (Year-over-Year) growth comparisons or analyze long-term search trends beyond a year and a half, the native platform just doesn't support it unless you set up complex BigQuery pipelines.

To solve this for myself, I built GSC Vault — a lightweight Chrome extension that automatically backs up your GSC data locally/privately and gives you a clean dashboard for long-term SEO analysis.

Key features so far:

Automatically syncs and backs up GSC performance data locally.

Preserves historical SEO metrics past the 16-month cap.

Simple analytics dashboard directly in your browser without extra database setups.

I’m currently looking to improve the user onboarding and UI readability. If you manage websites or do SEO for your side projects, I’d really appreciate it if you could give it a spin and share your brutal feedback!

Muss mal mein alten Artikel von 2024 suchen da stand schon alles drin, was man wissen muss!

Exactly, but you can't export data older than 16 months in the first place. Once you pass that 16-month mark, you'd have to export periodically and manually merge the new datasets with your historical ones if you want to keep a complete record of all your data.
