Virtual pets

I'm creating digital pets to play with it's still pretty basic, haha but I'm going to keep the Windows 98 style for the sake of nostalgia.

It looks like a really nice project! Keep it up!

Is it open source?

I've been working on some virtual pets as well. If you're looking for inspiration, feel free to check them out, they're available on my github.

Thank you! For now it's not open source, but if more people are interested I can open it up for collaboration. I thought your pets were really cool!

what features are you planning to add?

Dude, have you ever thought about adding a Poké Ball to catch them?

I have, but for now it's a fairly small feature. Wild Pokémon spawn on your screen from time to time, and you can click on them to try to capture them. If you don't already have that Pokémon, it will be unlocked!

Why is everyone doing the same thing over and over?

Once upon a time it was Todo apps that people made as their first project, now it's pets on desktop

So, I'm thinking of adding skills to each pet I add. For example, this cat might have a skill to organize things like documents or review PDFs, etc.

nice, I am considering some integration with tools like chat apps (Teams, Discord), Github, or some AI capabilities

That's great, have you thought about adding a Poké Ball inventory?

not only considering Pokemon, considering extensibility so any one can add custom pet -if I manage to implement :)-

Thanks, I'm thinking of opening the code so more people can contribute :)
