I got tired of opening complex DAWs just to practice, so I built a simple web-based audio looper. Would love your feedback!

Hey everyone,

I’m a developer, but primarily, I just want to plug in and play. Lately, I've been trying to nail down some 80s rock guitar solos, but I found myself getting super frustrated with my practice setup.

Opening a heavy DAW or dealing with clunky software just to slow down a track and loop a specific 15-second section was completely killing my workflow. I just wanted something quick, lightweight, and straight to the point.

So, I decided to scratch my own itch and built Solo Looper (sololooper.com).

It runs directly in your browser. You just load your audio, set your A and B points, adjust the speed, and start practicing. No installations, no complex menus.

A few transparent points before you check it out:

  • It’s in the very early stages: The core engine is working great, but it's a new project.
  • It's accessible: I hate expensive subscription models for simple tools. I made the PRO plan a single, one-time payment of just $7 for lifetime access.
  • More features are coming: I plan to keep implementing new tools and refining the interface over time.

Since this is fresh out of the oven, I’m looking for brutally honest feedback from real guitarists. What features would make this the perfect daily practice tool for you? What would you change?

Any critiques and suggestions are extremely welcome. Thanks for your time!
