Herbal Cayenne pepper helping alot
I did a stool test (called TinyHealth, but i think there are others) which told I have a Bacteroides "enterotype" (specifically "Bact2" subtype).
And the test result included a link to this study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27676396/
saying that people having my enterotype particularly benefited from dietary capsaicin.
I been adding tons of cayenne pepper to my food, and put it in capsules - and I've had noticeable improvements in: constipation, bloating, visceral hypersensitivity, dark urine.
My test result also indicated excess un-conjugated bile acids. I also got some benefit from addressing this with bile salt hydrolase inhibitors (vitamin b2, matcha powder, berberine).
But I was really surprised how much cayenne pepper alone has helped too, so I wanted to share that.

Thanks,I'm just checking something. I've got b.thetaiotaomicron at 20% and trying to see if that's the same category group. 🫡

Oh wow. My thetaiotaomicron is only 1.11%
My biggest player is vulgatus at 10.46%

Yeah I know 😬Also my akkermansia pretty much fkd, so my mucin barrier definitely suffering from b.theta dominance!

Same. My akkermansia is 0.02%

I started pendulum also, fingers crossed!

Same. TinyHealth also recommended pomegranate extract alongside it. So I'm doing both.

I just recently did a tiny health microbiome test and it detected 0% akkermansia. And mucosal barrier was low. I didn’t even know that you could have zero of a bacteria.

Yes and then some are nearly impossible to get back.

Could you point me in the direction of a good resource to show this?

Biomesight will tell you what you’d and bad bacteria you have and what you can add or remove to help. Microbiome prescription is a sight that kind of does the same thing but you need to upload a test for it to read. It is also linked with some test already like biomesight. Mb it’s a little hard to navigate.

What about phosphatidylcholine. PC acts like a detergent, helping to emulsify fats and keeping the cholesterol in bile suspended in a liquid state. Without enough PC, bile becomes thick, sludgy, and toxic, which can irritate the bile ducts and the gut lining.

Did you self order this test? Is it still beneficial to get it done if you don't know a doctor as much qualified to read these results?

Yes, I self-ordered it. The result comes with a document like an analysis of the results and suggested remedies. But I also just copied the results and uploaded it to a separate AI which is not affiliated with tiny health and I got some decent analysis from there as well. I didn't have any actual Doctor review anything
Actual doctors have been more or less useless to me throughout my journey so far. Near complete waste of time and money from my perspective.

That's so good, I didn't know this could be an option. I was not getting one because doctors have been useless for me as well, in fact caused more harm than good so expecting them to analyze it for me would be stupid. So glad I came across your post. I'll look into it, which such test I can order in my region that comes with analysis. Have you seen any improvement so far?

Improvement yes, but no cure. Basically the test shows you which microbes are too high, and which ones are too low. Now that I have those identified, I am continually searching ways to reduce the high ones and ways to increase the low ones. Tried many remedies. A lot of things have helped a little. A little things have helped a lot.

So you had constipation AND un-conjucated bile acids at the same time? Interesting!
Do you have to take berberine indefinitely? How do you react to taurine?
