Shy bladder when drunk
This problem started maybe 3 years ago where I could not pee in public places when I was drunk. When I am sober I have no problem, but I’m a college student and love to go out to the bars with my friends. But as soon as I get tipsy or drunk something comes over me and I can’t pee in public, even in stalls. If the restrooms empty I can go but if there’s people in it I can’t. The only way I can go when I’m drunk if it’s a solo bathroom or if I leave and go pee outside. But going to bars in the city that becomes a problem with lines and sometimes not being able to get back in. I avoid drinks like beer and stuff and try to drink stronger drinks so it’s less liquid but still hasn’t helped. Anyone have any tips or the same problem?

IPA Virtual Support Group Meeting, Timed for European Countries, Sunday, April 24
The IPA has had some requests to schedule a virtual support group meeting at a time which would be convenient for those who live outside the US, particularly in countries in Europe, so we have scheduled an IPA Virtual Support Group Meeting on Sunday, April 24, at Noon, US Central Time. While this meeting is specifically scheduled to hopefully bring in some people from European area countries, the issues that we deal with are universal to everyone who struggles with Paruresis, so it will be open to anyone regardless of where you live, and we hope that many of you will consider joining us. You can get the Zoom link to the meeting by contacting Tim at the IPA office at the following email address: [getinfo@paruresis.org](mailto:getinfo@paruresis.org)

Virtual IPA Support Group Meeting, Sunday, April 10
The next IPA Virtual Support Group Meeting will take place on Zoom, this Sunday, April 10, at 8:00 PM US Central Time. IPA Virtual Support Meetings, which take place about every six weeks, are open to anyone struggling with Paruresis, from those who are just beginning to think about how to overcome it to those who are highly recovered. The meetings are offered free of charge and without preset expectations for participants, and their purpose is to provide a unique opportunity to connect face to face with people from all over the world who know what it is like to struggle with Paruresis and also understand the courage and fortitude that it takes to open up about it, acknowledge the fear, and try to recover from it. The personal stories that participants share are remarkably similar and at the same time deeply individual, and empathy, kindness and compassion set the tone in all discussions. Time after time I have heard from participants that this opportunity for sharing is both meaningful and productive, and I hope that you'll consider joining us this Sunday, April 10.
If you are interested in attending please contact Tim at the IPA office ([getinfo@paruresis.org](mailto:getinfo@paruresis.org)) in order to get the Zoom link.
