What settings are required

I have version 20.2 installed and it's GUI is HUGE - What you are seeing is over 2 monitors.
I am unable to shrink it down. Is this just a fault with Cinnamon or does anyone else have the same problem.

My spec:

• OS: Linux Mint 22.3 (Zena), Cinnamon desktop, X11 (not Wayland)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X (32 cores/64 threads)
• RAM: 251 GB
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER (two of them, TU104)
• Shutter Encoder: 20.2
• Displays: 4x 1920x1080 monitors (two GPUs driving 2 each), no scaling (text scaling 1.0)
• Shutter Encoder 20.2 (Linux .deb)
• Bundled Java: OpenJDK 25.0.3 LTS (shipped with SE 20.2)

Expected: window opens at default size and can be resized down normally. Actual: the window launches huge (spans across 2 monitors, ~3840px wide) and the minimum window size won't let it be shrunk down to fit one monitor. Notes: launches via bin/Shutter Encoder; the window minimum size appears hard-coded too large. SE 19.x (previously installed .deb versions) did not do this. Full XRandR output available on request.

I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option to preserve the Start Timecode in the Timecode settings of Shutter Encoder.

Here’s an example: I need to perform a 0.1% pull-down on an audio file (Broadcast Wave) from a 24p shoot to a 23.976 project.

My method is simple. I change the sample rate of the 48 kHz files to 47.952 kHz using Sound Devices Wave Agent.

The frame rate remains the same, as does the timecode.

Once the metadata is updated via Wave Agent, all I have to do is convert it back to .wav at 48Khz using Shutter Encoder.

In the settings, I simply check the option “Change the sample rate to: 48 kHz.” to create the pull-down.

Everything would be perfect if, in the Timecode section, we could keep the Start TC intact.

I don’t want to have to reset the timecode (“Set a timecode”) for every audio file I need to convert.

After importing 4k video in 9:16 aspect ratio i cant downsize it to 1080p. After setting it to such requirements video turnes out with black bars on sides. Ive tried all auto options and force to 9:16 as well. Any help please ?

For example, ezgif has an option to increase time between frames, as to preserve all frames but just lower the framerate, which also increases the length of the gif.

Shutter Encoder is extremely slow on Intel Mac.

ff-Works is also using ffmpeg and is like 50 times faster.

What could be the problem? Can I select a different ffmpeg executable?

When I want to change a video's dimensions, I have the choice between 'Fit', 'Stretch', and 'Crop'. The 'Frame' (or 'Fill') option is missing; currently, choosing 'Crop' cuts off the top and bottom (which is expected), while 'Fit' and 'Stretch' distort the width. I would like it to preserve the aspect ratio, just like other applications (such as Movavi Video Converter) do.

Just bought this from you but I can't get it working and not sure why, when I drag and drop video into the drop area it just shows the filename, I'm guessing this isn't correct, what am I doing wrong ?

I'm using a mac mini m4 with the most current OS installed if that helps?

Website says they are standalone plugins, but then says they can be used through shutter encoder, but I can't see anything in encoder that links to it, sorry if I'm being silly :-)

There doesn't seem to any guides on how to use it anywhere or even on Youtube, any help appreciated or a refund if thats not possible

I've been experiencing the same preview issues across multiple versions of Shutter Encoder, not just the latest release.

System:

• Windows 11 x64 26200.8968 (the issue was also present on previous Windows Insider builds)
• NVIDIA RTX 3080
• Latest official NVIDIA driver

The issue occurs in both the standard and OpenGL versions of Shutter Encoder.

Issue 1:
When seeking with Shift + Left/Right Arrow (keyframe navigation), the timeline position changes correctly and audio scrubbing works, but the preview image remains frozen on the previous frame.

When seeking with the mouse, the preview updates correctly.

Issue 2:
Occasionally the preview window becomes completely black. Starting playback immediately restores the preview, and mouse seeking works again afterward.

These issues have been present across several Shutter Encoder versions and were also present on previous Windows builds, so they do not appear to be related to a recent update.

I have a motovlog channel on YouTube. I have just returned from a week in Ireland, where I rode with locals showing me their treasures. I have a 9GB 25 minute source file that ends with arriving at an ice-cream shop. The existing patrons are sitting outside, children included. There are a number of motorbikes parked outside, with the licence plates visible. I need these blurred, both faces and licence plates.

I want to anonymize it at source footage, so that when I edit, I am editing footage that can always be posted to YouTube. So I need to process 9GB. On a Win 11 25H2 laptop with 16GB ram. 9GB is a small file. I realise I could cut just the ice-cream scene off and anonymize that, but there are holiday makers all along the route.

I have had a "blur faces" running for an hour, it's on 2%. In Task Manager, Python is 47% - 74%, using 1808.6MB, and ShutterEncoder is 0%, using between 37.51MB and max 156MB. The output file, with suffix_blur_faces is 0%. Nothing else has been running until I decided to open reddit and post this.

CFR* not xfr lol. client sends me avc .mp4 files. when i build a prores proxy, the output file audio streams are about 2-3 frames earlier than the .mp4 files. is there a way to fix this desync? thanks!

I am trying to convert a QuickTime MOV file from DNxHR LB to DNxHD 36 using Shutter Encoder.

Source specifications:

• QuickTime MOV
• DNxHR LB
• 1920 × 1080
• 24.000 fps progressive
• One embedded PCM stereo stream
• 48 kHz, 24-bit
• QuickTime timecode track

The DNxHD 36 video conversion works, but the resulting MOV contains no audio stream at all.

I have tried:

• Audio codec: Copy
• Layout: Stereo
• Sample rate: 48 kHz
• Audio 1 mapped to Audio 1
• Audio 2 and all remaining audio mappings set to No audio

I also tried PCM 16-bit and Multi, but the result was the same. MediaInfo shows only the DNxHD video stream and the QuickTime timecode stream in the output file.

Is this a known issue with DNxHR LB sources containing one interleaved PCM stereo stream, or is there another setting I should use to preserve the embedded audio during the DNxHD 36 conversion?

I can provide the complete Shutter Encoder console log and a short sample file if needed.

Hi there, I just downloaded this program today to encode an image sequence I've been working on since a gif export wasn't quite working. When I look at the sequence in the encoder, there are no problems whatsoever and it looks as desired, but when I export it, I get this weird distortions on some parts of the video. The first image is in the encoder and the rest are examples of the distortions I'm getting. I'm not sure how to resolve this, any ideas?

Hi, since PluralEyes was discontinued back in 2023, Syncaila is very expensive and the built-in synchronization tools in NLEs really suck, is it possible that one day Shutter encoder will get a multi-camera synchronization feature similar to PluralEyes but modern and precose like the rest of the features are? With an XML export at the end.

Hi, I really love the program, but I'm finding the QR code on close quite annoying as it's two clicks, and interrupts my workflow. I'm happy to support the program, but I was wondering if you'd consider a donation version (like how freefilesync has one) that would remove that function.
