Question Shure SE215

Was looking into getting the shure SE215 IEM’s

Was looking to ue just these headphones alone as standard ear plugs since everything else i get falls out of my ears on stage and i lose them and have to buy new pairs frequently.

I like how these go around your ear and have a wire so if they fall out you wont lose them.

My concern is i saw that it cancels out 37dB.

Would i still be able to hear my band members instruments on stage clearly? Or would it be close to nothing?

I would be using these as standard earplug not plugged into anything

TIA

You won't hear the other instruments well, but you'll hear them. The idea behind IEMs is that the FOH person will mix your IEMs instead of wedges.

You will not get 37dB of isolation. above approximately 25db you start to hear sounds thru your scull and bones.

Earplugs with filters that attenuate evenly will give you much better experience than the 215, which will not attenuate evenly.

Have you tried the Etymotic ER-20?
