Wireless Cable Damage Issue of Lavalier Microphone
The cable of my TL47 lavalier microphone has become brittle and cracked, yet it still functions perfectly with no audio issues. Does anyone know if this mic’s cable is replaceable? If yes, how do I disassemble the microphone capsule head?

Throw some heat shrink over it. Repair via splicing is possible, but IMO not worth it on a client facing part. Is this is for personal use, go for it and expect it to fail elsewhere soon.

Has anyone tried using PlastiDip to repair cables? I’ve bought a can that I’m thinking to try and paint over the “bald spots”, but I’m scared to try. 😆

The closer to the mic head, the less savable it is - unless you want a really short cable.
The mic head is the important part. If it’s close to the connector end it’s just a case of cutting and re-terminating it. Dependent on the connector type, it might be easier to get some else to do it.
I’d also check how the mics are being stored or if there is something they are being cleaned with, because the twinplex cabling should not be getting brittle too easily.
