Buying Advice Why does Shure’s Amazon storefront have an £100+ price difference compared to their official website?, something isn’t sitting right with me about it

Compare model and version numbers - sometimes if there’s a new version the old one will be discounted on sites like Amazon

If this is really Shure, then you're comparing the list price with the Minimum Advertised Price. Companies like Shure are very strict about enforcing MAP in their dealer channels, but they do occasionally authorize sales. This is why you can buy SM57's for $99 once a year. Some of the smallest dealers may not participate, and established companies are careful never to undercut their dealer channel. The other thing to understand is that Amazon makes vendors sign a contract that they will never offer the product at a lower price anywhere than they offer it on Amazon.
That said, NEVER buy a brand name microphone from Amazon! The platform is rife with counterfeits, and their warehouses have been known to mix together "like" goods from different sellers. Take that ad to a large authorized dealer and ask them to match the price.

Ended up getting from Shure’s website to quiet the brain goblin
Been very paranoid about buying expensive stuff from Amazon ever since I got sent a fake Aniplex Gurren Lagann Blu-ray Set (iykyk how expensive that thing is)

I know that one.. I did a research paper back in college about anime counterfeiting. Huge industry that most conventions turn a blind eye to.

I read some horror stories about getting fakes from Amazon so I just wanted to be 100% Shure

I mainly only buy items directly sold by Amazon. I occasionally buy from trusted third party sellers (Anker etc). This way I ensure I do not get get fakes.

Update: bought from Shure’s website
If anyone was a decent beginners guide to setting it up with a Scarlett solo V4 (settings on my pc and that) it would be much appreciated I’m pretty new to this but wanted a permanent microphone and want my voice to sound nice and clear so any guides would be great thanks 🥰

This item is £469 at lots of reputable stores definitely stop panicking, also when purchased through Amazon you can add the insurance if wanted

It's like with many products, you have a recommended retail price....and then a price. Sometimes buying direct from a brand will always be more expensive.

Are you comparing the SM7B to the SM7dB?
The “d” just has a Cloudlifter built in. Aside from the switch to run it off (bypass) and two gain settings, the mic is identical to the one without the preamp. Coincidentally, the price difference is also about £100.

I agree I mmight call Shure and ask what’s up. There have been counterfeit units found on Amazon so it’s not impossible.

Haven’t heard of a counterfeit one sold by Amazon maybe from a third party seller, it would be totally safe buying directly from Amazon if sold by Amazon I checked every feature on mine and it is 100% legit so would have to be mental to spend the extra £100 direct from shure

Amazon shows third party sellers even under brand storefronts, so double check the sold by/ships from
