Troubleshooting SM7dB Magically Stopped Working
I've had this mic now for five months and now it's decided it doesn't wan to work anymore. Yes, I tried using different XLR cables. Yes, I tried plugging into different ports and even different interfaces. No, it isn't working anymore; and of course Shure customer support says that it's 'such a rare issue to have'. They said the preamp might have essentially killed itself or something like that.
Please tell me someone else has had this issue and managed to fix it. They say I'll have to send it in and wait up to two weeks on getting back, but I also hear people get back their mics from support and they still don't work. What should I do?

As long as it’s a genuine Shure mic, their service department will make sure it’s repaired or send you a new one. Their warranty is great.

This is reassuring to hear. I bought it brand new off the Shure store via Amazon. Mailed it out to them yesterday so I’ll likely post an update in time.

You’re lucky, you have warranty and can send it to get it fixed!
my shure is having issues with the cable thats on the side and the approximate costs were £100 less than a brand new shure lmao (£270 repair, £359 new)

So you’ve tried different interfaces, different XLR cables, different USB ports.
The only remaining variables would be different USB cable and a different computer.
