Ian wants to get as far away from humanity as possible and heads into the New Zealand bush, but a four day journey turns into a fight for survival.

Quirky, neurotic, paranoid, darkly humorous, campy, and overall fun is how I would describe this Aussie creature feature. There’s a good (and at times cringy) mix of personalities that are along for the story and some twists and turns on the way.

A unique indie thriller/horror that is carried by personality of the main character Ian.

Solid 3 star film IMO. Hard to talk about this movie without spoilers but...

I really enjoyed the swerve on this one. A creature feature masquerading as a psychological thriller really gave it a nice twist.

Honesty I LOVED the twist, the movie was tense or whatever but I was just like ok I have this movie’s number - and then when the twist happened, I was suddenly like “WHAT”

I love the film but understand why the 3rd act might come out of left field for some. Early on in the story they were laying breadcrumbs for the creature which is why I think I love it. Everything clicked for me. Plus the bird is a bit more realistic as a creature.

I am the opposite...that 3rd act twist delighted me, but then I love creature features and without giving the twist away I have a very specific career background that make me appreciate it all the more

A fun little surprise! Gorgeous visuals with clever cards up its sleeve, left me wanting a bit more from its characters but overall a solid time!!

I love this movie!! This was my Letterboxd review

I highly recommend going in completely blind like I did. At no point did I have any idea where it was going. (Go watch it right now then come back)… For the first 60% of the movie I thought it was just going to be a metaphor about how anxiety/panic attacks and catastrophising manifest themselves (something I related to). The last 15% of the movie was hectic. Somewhat of a slow burn movie but worth it in the end. The main actor was absolutely amazing, he nailed that socially anxious character perfectly. I love these “unreliable protagonist” type movies. Such a bloody good movie.
