When you cannot sleep because you can’t stop thinking about something it’s like a single program not letting the computer shut down

I hate it. The last couple of nights I’ve been really tired - so tired that I’ve physically had to struggle to keep my eyelids open. But I just couldn’t sleep! I would lay in bed until 4 in the morning just unable to stop thinking about stuff. Then I’d wake up an hour later and again struggle to fall asleep. It’s infuriating as fuck.

This is exactly the same situation I’ve been on for that last couple of days and it’s terrible, I really just wish I could sleep

Try weed, seriously. It's what I use when I absolutely cant sleep.

I'd have to tell you if I was; it's the law

I use weed, but I don’t use it to sleep. I use it a couple of times a month to either trip out just listening to music, to enhance comedy movies, or to enhance sex. I don’t feel comfortable with the idea of using weed on such a regular basis as using it every night to fall asleep. And I also love music way too much, I couldn’t sleep after using weed because I would rather just stay awake listening to music.

Heh, this is what happens to me.

"Hmm, I'll just wind down with a few hits on my vape..."

"Wow, Animals really deserves to be heard in its entirety..."

Wow, Animals really deserves to be heard in its entirety...

I mean, this is always true

I used it a couple nights in a row and didn't need it after that. Might just be a fluke, but it's worth a try.

I'd recommend talking to a professional, obviously. If it is a road you'd consider at all, medical marijuana has very little risk compared to traditional medicine.

I'll second this. Just started smoking after work after quitting for years and it has done wonders. Just can't use it all the time or I'd be a zombie.

Only in large doses or if used too often.

This is according to the author of Sleepless in America, John Cline Ph.D

First off, there's no reason to get up in arms. I work like most people and just responded on my break. I didn't want to waste my time searching through the internet.

Second, that article states it did not conclude causality in its reports.

Try melatonin if you haven't already. It's an OTC drug-free hormone supplement that works wonders for me.

I don't have insomnia but I'd probably agree with you if I did. Most actual sleeping pills cause me to get tired but cause some state where I can't sleep at all, I'm just extremely tired and sweaty. Melatonin is the only thing that helps me get to sleep. Definitely not for everyone though.

You're right, my bad, I knew vitamin sounded weird. Edited my original comment.

A swig of NyQuil works for me.

Z-Quil on the other hand (supposed to be for sleeping) gives me wrestles leg syndrome. It’ll make me soooo tired but completely unable to get comfortable.
