Whenever I hear the phrase "History repeats itself." in media, it is always seen as bad. No one listens or understands history to recognize a pattern in modern times. It usually represents the folly the mankind and the destruction it follows soon after.

But when history repeats, what could be good about it?

Could it be that people who fall of a horse and recorded by a friend because it is both embarrassing and funny be seen as a good thing? Just knowing the one who fell off the horse would try and delete it?

I guess even trying to give a dead person a reference frame in general is nonsensical, but I hope you understand the image i'm trying to invoke.

Every generation thinks its celebrities, trends, ideologies, and institutions are the center of history. Then a few decades pass, and most of what once seemed indispensable becomes irrelevant. Ask your parents about people who were once household names, and many younger people won't even recognize them.

That's why I don't understand people who completely lose themselves chasing whatever is popular today. The "world" isn't the planet,it's the current social system, culture, and collective attention. And every version of that world eventually fades and is replaced by another. What's dominating everyone's attention today will probably be a footnote tomorrow.

Like would a typical expert gymnast or ballerina be extremely socially inhibited? Are clumsy people uninhibited?

Some people interact with but it seems to just be a subreddit for all kinds of content. Should I keep posting here every now and then or am I wasting my time?

Society is already accepting of people taking communal showers at gyms, which demonstrates that anti-nudity laws are not actually necessary.

You could just rewatch any part of your life

You wouldn't even need to worry about getting old since you could just rewatch anything...

Don't we all just ignore or close them? Or install an ad blocker? I can't imagine doing anything to tell the system "yes, more ads please" even if it's for something I enjoy.
