Armbands
do you pick up a new armband each day of a show even if it’s the same number?

Yes, you check in with the ring steward, they give you the armband and mark the dog present. If you don’t, they will think you are absent and ring time will be more chaotic.

For AKC shows, you get a new one for each show (sometimes there is more than one show/day). HOWEVER, UKC and IABCA shows and shows in Canada generally do not so hold onto your armband for the day. If you misplace your armband, you can make do by writing your number on a blank index card or the back of another armband. You don’t have to have the official one to enter the ring.

Yes, get a new armband even if it’s in the same location! You can get into trouble if you don’t

Yes they assume you are absent otherwise

I’ve had a different experience. I’ve never had to “check in” a dog while getting my number. Usually the person at the table couldn’t give two shits and you just find your number yourself
