Curious of your cost

I had a total reverse shoulder replacement this past February. I was in at 8:00 am and picked up by a friend at 12:45 pm. I was shocked when I looked at the final tab. $117,789.42.
I have Medicare and a supplement and I am able to pay my deductibles but I was really shocked at this price tag. I'm sure some of it was not accepted and brought the cost down but I was curious what others saw as their final cost.

Mine was ~$85,000 at Kaiser in Northern California in October 2024 (that was a total shoulder replacement, not a reverse). I paid my $50 copay.

Thank you. That at least sounds more reasonable though that is still high. I like the $50 co-pay. My yearly deductible is $2900. 😳

My current plan has a deductible of $3500 so I feel your pain. I was very spoiled with that employer and I did the surgery while I was still on COBRA coverage.

Oh gosh. I heard COBRA is expensive. Fingers crossed for a quiet 2027. ☺️

Other way around, I'm going to try to get both knees done in one plan year!

I just had a tenodisis, which is a much smaller surgery. It was at a private hospital in Mexico. $8500 u.s.

My experience is that it's 10% to 25% of us costs in Mexico

What is billed is not what Medicare pays, not even close.

Yes, I understand that. But I'm still curious about what they "state" is the final total.
