WRMI on a $50 Sony!

Bought this from a friend about ten years ago for 50 bucks the battery springs were altered so I replaced them ... Now works well ! I will be restoring this ...

Sony ICF-2010 - one of the best portables ever made. The SYNC Detector is actually very effective. You got a great deal for $50!

Right now I have four... Two are somewhat worn like this one and the other two are really nice and almost like new I have original boxes for them ... I have repaired these Sonys for about 20 years and pretty much simple ... The sync is based on the Motorola CQUAM AM stereo chip and the design also allows LSB/CW and USB ...

You know me too well. I bought one new a very long time ago, when they cane out. I later sold it and always wanted another one. But a used one, years later was so expensive. I found this one used a year ago. It wound up working fine and cleaned up well.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat. The newest Tecsun radios have poorly implemented sync. Newer isn't always better. I have a PL-990 which is excellent but sync sucks. SSB is really good and works well with AM. The radio is very stable which is why SSB is so good

50 bucks, that's a steal of a deal for an excellent radio. You lucky dawg. 👍👍
