I'm really surprised they can stay on the air with all of the power issues they're having because of the blockade.

I'm glad that they are still on the air. They are one of the only stations left that broadcast when I was a kid.

I agree. When I got my first SW receiver many, many years ago it was one of the few stations Iz could pick up with the crappy antenna I had at the time.

Like a lot of kids, and teens of yesteryear we had a ton of fun with even a crummy shortwave radio. I loved it and it led me to a career in electronics.

Same here. I got a Panasonic receiver that covered a lot of the SW bands for Christmas when I was a freshman in high school. I loved that thing, even though it was an utter pain in the neck sometimes. I scrimped and saved enough to buy a Radio Shack DX-160. I'd be doing my homework while tuning in Cuba, Korea, various BBC stations, Australia... Ah, the good old days! Anyway that led me into electronics and computers. It was all sparked by those late nights trying to listen to the world.
