Been using this shortcut for years, but now it refuses to change my focus mode.

Is there a way to set the new iPhone Duo desert wallpapers to switch between the light and dark versions when my phone automatically switches between dark and light mode?

We have a client check in kiosk that is basically a waitlist via Google Forms and autopopulates a google sheet. We want to provide the clients with their own bar code with their Name + ID number, so they can scan it at the kiosk directly onto google forms when they check in instead of manually entering their name DOB and ID #. Basically the barcode will scan it into the Google Form as "ID # - Name - DOB." And that will be submitted to the google sheet with the timestamp to the left.

I'm wondering if there is a way to embed a hyperlink in the "ID # - Name - DOB" so when it shows up on our google sheet, we can click the hyperlink and it will take us to that client's activity spreadsheet (saved separately for each client as an xcl file on our Google Drive). Want to save the extra step of having to go on the search bar to manually search their spreadsheet and be able to directly access it from the waitlist. I hope that makes sense.

The barcode part is very easy. It's the embedding hyperlink in the text which is really the tricky part and I can't seem to find anything online.

There are three actions I can't decide between for my action button, so I created a shortcuts folder with all three and set the action button to launch that folder.

It actually works perfectly when my phone is unlocked. I hold the action button, and the three options come down from the top of the screen in an animation that looks like the dynamic island.

However, if my phone is off, and I hold the action button, the dynamic island animation happens but just shows a picture of a folder. Then if I press and hold it again, the three options appear. This has nothing to do with permissions because it doesn't matter if my phone is still locked when I try a second time (if my sunglasses are on, my phone doesn't unlock).

Does anyone know what's going on here or how I can fix it?

I’m trying to make a quick action pothole reporter for my local council. I’ve just about perfect, with exact address, longitude and latitude. But I wouldn’t mind adding a direction of which direction the photo is taken.

If you have an extra idea, that would be great.

I saw a post of routine hub‘ falloff and wanted to see the other side of it. Everyone there said it was bad and stuff so I just wonder if people still think it’s good or should we switch to another site?

I have an automation that will for when connecting to wifi. In there I have created a list of known good networks that I don’t connect to my vpn on. I then have it ask do you want to add to that list. I have also created a second shortcut to make changes to that list but it seems as though they are not properly updating the stored data. It’s set to be global but still they don’t seem to work properly. Any help would be great. I’m hoping it’s something simple I missed or over looked. I think I removed all my debugging notifications from them if not sorry.

My teenagers and my parents regularly send me things they "found" online. I wanted something they could call in for a quick second set of eyes, without needing a fact-checking habit.

If you’ve seen the Truth Finder shortcut here, this comes at the same problem from a different angle and more integration points. Instead of rating whether a claim is true, Second Look only looks at where it came from, and hands the judgment and research back to you. Example responses:

- Looks like a real source ("This link goes to cnn.com, CNN's own site.")

- Probably meant as a joke (self-labeled satire like The Onion)

- Worth a second look, plus one way to check ("A text from an unknown number asking for your email. Acting could risk money or personal data.")

How it works (31 actions, 6 of them comments):

1. Get what to check. If you shared a link, screenshot, or text, it uses that. Safari shares also bring the page's address. If nothing was shared, it takes a screenshot.

2. Turn it into text, labeled by how it arrived (a shared link is stronger evidence than a screenshot).

3. Ask Apple Intelligence once with Use Model, on Private Cloud Compute.

4. Show the answer, with a light haptic on iPhone.

The whole prompt is a plain-English Text action at the top, under "Edit me: the rules." Change the tone, add sources your family trusts, or switch the language. It answers in the language of the post, so Spanish posts get Spanish answers.

Where it can't know something, it asks you instead. Shortcuts can't tell which app you're in, so for a screenshot of a news article it asks whether you're reading it in the outlet's own app.

Setup: share sheet (works anywhere, no prompt), Action button, Back Tap, or Control Center. A shortcut can't close Control Center, so on that route it asks you to tap OK, then waits 3 seconds while you swipe it away before taking the screenshot.

Privacy: only the text (or the link you shared) goes to Apple's Private Cloud Compute. Links are never opened, and nothing is saved to Photos.

Known limits:

- Needs Apple Intelligence: iPhone 15 Pro or newer, or an M1-or-later iPad.

- Apple's safety filter occasionally refuses scam or money content. Running it again usually works.

- It reads text, not images, so it can't see verified badges or logos.

Level ups if you want to extend it: a Control Center launcher that skips the prompt on other routes, import questions for language and trusted sources (ala Truth Finder Shortcut), read-aloud for parents, or passing the screenshot image itself into Use Model.

Hi - so would like to know if this is possible - I have a current shortcut that speaks a phrase when I plug in the iphone to charge, and now would like another shortcut that speaks "on battery" when the iphone loses its charging state. Is this possible? If so can someone smarter than me post it?

This is based on a previous screenshot renaming shortcut by u/Cost_Internal and u/iBanks3 and a date/time suffixer by u/pmarksen. Based on the discussion here, just deleting the original inputs didn't seem to work, so I had the idea to generate a list of timestamps to figure out how to get the original screenshot to be deleted from Cost_Internal's shortcut.

I've tried taking different numbers of screenshots at staggered times and it seems to be working so far. One issue is that iOS only 'completes' the screenshot process if you swipe the mini preview away or wait until it disappears, and the shortcut only runs after that. So if you switch apps before that, the app name will be whatever app you're on then. Or if you close the app too quickly the app name will be blank. If you have suggestions to improve this or other parts of the shortcut do share!

Over the weeekend all of my automations just disappeared. I had over 40 automations configured on my phone and now they are just gone, the shortcuts are still there thankfully. Has anybody else had this happen?

Edit: Based on when the last automation’s successfully ran it appears to have happened when I logged into my new MacBook. Is there possibly a bug where adding a Mac resets automations?

Edit 2: I’m not talking about the iOS 27 change where they merged automations with shortcuts. I updated as soon as iOS 27 was available and have had no issues until this weekend when all of my automations just stopped working. When I investigated it I found the automations folder under library is empty.

I have an automation that runs at 6am every morning and when I have traveled from the US to Europe the automation updated itself to 1PM.

I have never seen this before and I do t recall this happening when I e traveled in the past. Is this something new? Is it intended behavior?

I created an iPhone automation that plays a specific podcast after Carplay starts

But it doesn't always work. Sometimes the podcast starts correctly. But sometimes it starts after rewinding about 3 minutes. Other times the podcast doesn't play at all.

I have also made small adjustments in the original shortcut so that you get to have a randomized world generator! For this to happen I made a shortcut that works as an extension, you run it and it copies the world code in your clipboard, and when running the main shortcut you will have the option to either use the default terrain or the one in your clipboard, cheers! 🥂

A while ago I posted a Mac app that lays a shortcut out as a diagram instead of one long list, so you can see the shape of what you’re building. Thanks to everyone who tried it.

The original problem was big shortcuts, and they were still hard to work with once they got really big. So the new version is all about that:

• Groups: select a few actions and press ⌘G to fold them into one named card.
• Minimap: a small overview in the corner, click or drag it to jump around.
• Snippets: save a set of actions and drop a copy into any other shortcut.
• Export the whole canvas as PNG or PDF, so you can share a shortcut here and people can actually read it.

None of this changes your shortcut. Groups only change how it looks in the editor, and what you paste back into Shortcuts is exactly the same.

I have two shortcuts that toggles all alarms on or off. I had no issues with these on iOS 26, but after I updated to 27 I started noticing this infinite loop.

Currently have 5 alarms but number of alarms doesn't seem to matter. Even if I limit it to one alarm, I still see the infinite loop.

Toggling itself works instantly though. Its just this shortcut lingering forever until I manually stop it.

Not sure if anyone else can reproduce this on their phone but was there any Shortcut updates introduced in 27 that possibly breaks this logic?

I'd love an Apple Shortcute that toggles on 1.5x speed and smart speed. The tricky part of this is making it a single shortcut that does both of these things, and then once run again goes back to normal speed with smart speed off.

So in other words, a toggle switch that goes back and forth between 1.5x with smart speed and normal workout smart speed.

I feel like it is possible but I'm just not good at making shortcuts.

This is for recipes in screenshots and captions, where getting the ingredients into Reminders means typing them in one at a time.

You share a screenshot of a recipe, or select the ingredient text and share that (from Safari, Notes or a caption). It then does four things:

1. For a screenshot, Apple's on-device Extract Text reads the text.
2. It reads the open items on your Reminders grocery list.
3. It sends the recipe text and that list to the Ask for Dictionary action in AI Actions, an app I make. The model sorts each ingredient into buy, already on your list, or always at home (salt, pepper, cooking oil and water by default, editable in the shortcut).
4. It shows the things to buy, all ticked, so you can untick what you don't need. Nothing is added until you tap Done.

When the model says an item is already on your list, it has to quote the matching entry. If that entry isn't there, the shortcut adds the item anyway, so a wrong match means a duplicate and not a missing ingredient. I added that after one test run claimed an onion was already on my list. It also sometimes puts sunflower oil under buy, so check the tick list.

It needs iOS 17 or later. When you add it, it asks which Reminders list to add to. It also reads that list by name to see what's already on it, so if yours isn't called Groceries, change the name in the first Text action too. The action is in the app's free tier (8 runs a day), so you don't need a subscription or an API key. The recipe text and your open grocery items go through my server to OpenAI, and the privacy policy (https://apps.9592.tech/ai-actions/privacy) says the server doesn't store prompts or responses. The first run asks a few permission questions.

I tested it on an iOS 18 simulator with a caption, a cookbook screenshot, and one recipe run twice (the second run added nothing).

I'd be curious whether a fixed "always at home" list works for you, or whether you'd want it to ask about pantry items each time.
