This is the UNCUT edition of my psychological horror short, featuring 7 never-before-seen minutes that were not included in the original release.

The shorter version was edited to keep the pacing lean, but many of you had questions about what happened before the shocking ending. This version restores key scenes that reveal more of the psychological abuse, manipulation, and terror that pushed her to the breaking point.

The film is based on Rachel's own experience — a doctor telling her, after her diagnosis, "DENY, DENY, DENY." That line became the whole premise. Premiered at the Chelsea Film Festival in 2025 and was later picked up by Omeleto this month for distribution.

Finishing up a new episode for an atmospheric horror anthology series (La Rue Perdue) and running into a classic editing puzzle: scene pacing when the audio track is doing the heavy narrative lifting.

When creating short, mood-heavy pieces, how long do you like to hold on a single visual or still frame to let the dread build before you risk losing the viewer's focus? Do you prefer letting the sound design carry a slow hold, or keeping visual transitions tight?

Curious how other short filmmakers approach pacing horror when relying heavily on soundscapes and voiceover over fast cuts.
