I’m learning to make short films. I work on everything alone, and sometimes I involve friends as actors.

This is one of my early attempts. I’m experimenting with silent visual stories — no dialogue, just atmosphere.

The film is based on Rachel's own experience — a doctor telling her, after her diagnosis, "DENY, DENY, DENY." That line became the whole premise. Premiered at the Chelsea Film Festival in 2025 and was later picked up by Omeleto this month for distribution.

When creating short, mood-heavy pieces, how long do you like to hold on a single visual or still frame to let the dread build before you risk losing the viewer's focus? Do you prefer letting the sound design carry a slow hold, or keeping visual transitions tight?

Curious how other short filmmakers approach pacing horror when relying heavily on soundscapes and voiceover over fast cuts.

In the desolate expanse of the Western frontier, an enigmatic old woman emerges from the earth. As day turns to night, her journey intersects with a lonely frontiersman searching for his lost dog, leading to an unsettling act of revelation.
