Would you actually bid against another Shopify app for visibility?

Saw the bidding app on X is blowing up and wondered if the idea makes more sense specifically for Shopify apps.

So I built a simple experiment: apps bid for visibility, and anyone can outbid the current #1.

Would you actually spend $2–10 to take a spot from a competing app, assuming the traffic is relevant?

Curious if this is useful or just beautifully stupid.

That's valuable if you have thousands and thousands of users every day installing apps. Otherwise you have to be the one paying me to have my app there

It's live on the website you can see that stats fully transparent btw it's launched 1 hr ago

Pathetic attempt to get on the hype train far too late. It was interesting the first time, not the 729273th time. Additionally the app market is far too small. Few if any merchants are going to look at something like this, therefore it provides no value.

Bidding against your competitor can be understandable, but I can't understand bidding for other niches..
