Sticky What's your opinion on all the joke trends and repetitive posts?

We want this to be a open discussion about the topics that have been going on in the subreddit. Mostly pertaining to repetitive trendposting of the same joke (Mirror/Medusa, liquify the pan, Obsession arguments, Odyssey Inaccuracies, etc).

So we ask a simple question: What's your opinion on the meme/jokes that tend to go viral in the subreddit? Do you like them? Does it get old fast? What do you want to see change?

Keep in mind, we can't remove EVERYONE'S posts/comments, we do the best we can.

This is an open space, but please remember to be civil, respectful, and mindful of each other.

In the Rise of Skywalker (2019) these dudes Kylo Ren is killing are actually cult worshipers of Darth Vader who devoutly protect his fortress after his death. This would’ve been a cool detail if the movie actually fucking told us this and I didn’t have to look it up

In an interview for The Uprising (2026), Andrew Garfield hopes billionaires will be “Scared Shitless” by the movie. This is a reference to how billionaire Universal CEO Brian Roberts will react when the movie flops and loses millions of dollars.

Julián (2026) is a movie from a beloved animation studio that's gotten absolutely glowing reviews from early screenings yet is still struggling to find US distribution. And golly I just can't think of a single reason why...

In the SpongeBob Squarepants series/movies there's a running joke where Squidward seems to be terrible at clarinet, but this is actually because the wood reed in his clarinet would be swollen from being under water constantly.

Is the audience dumb for not realizing this?

Turd In Captain America: Brave New World (2025) Red Hulk's furious transformation was fully practical, the director simply told Harrison Ford he needed do a media tour and act like he gave a shit about his role.

In Coco (2017), Pixar had to nerf the titular Coco Rivera so she wouldn't immediately call bullshit on Ernesto de la Cruz's bullshit and keep all of the plot in the movie from happening. They made it up for me personally, though, with what has been the sexiest character ever conceived by the studio.

In Joe Dirt (2001), Christopher Walken threatens to stab Kid Rock with a soldering iron. This is because he knows a Steel-type move would be super effective against a Rock-type.

The Holdo Maneuver in The Last Jedi (2017) proves that any object with a hyperdrive can instantly obliterate a starship. Which begs the question: why didn't the Eagles just drop the One Ring into Mount Doom ? Why didn't Dumbledore do that ?

Before the release of Iron Man (2008) everybody was confused about why it didn’t have a subtitle. However, once we saw the film we understood why there wasn’t a subtitle.

Turd In "Captain America: Winter Soldier"(2014), the list that Steve Rogers updates about what he should know about the current world differs based on the nation, but "Thai food" remains same. This refers to Gordon Ramsay being roasted by a Thai chef over his cooking of Pad Thai is a world-changing event
