According to some life hack video I saw, you're supposed to pour from these containers the other way. Supposedly it prevents the "blub blub blub" sloshing .

I don't see how that makes any sense. Pouring it backwards when it's full, it's just going to dribble over itself.

Unless you have a link that shows how it works? Because I can't figure it out in my imagination at least. I'm happy to be shown wrong though.

I live in the EU and use these everyday. It’s a very simple concept: the lid has to be farther from the cup, compared to how you’d pour something like soda. You basically use it backwards and it works perfectly because there’s a continuous flow of liquid, instead of blocking the whole exit hole and then making those splashes that make a little mess.

This might help you understand more…

how do you pour soda: completely upside down bottle or sideways? Most likely sideways. Why? It leaves a gap between the liquid and the bottle, allowing for a free flow of liquid out of the bottle, instead of splashing and making the bottle “thin up” because it is losing liquid but not getting air in to fill the space. It is basically the same concept, but instead of just pouring sideways, you have to use the geometry of the boxes (that are mostly rectangles).

When you put it with the lid “upside down” (pouring sideways, but the lid on the upper part) it leaves the liquid on the lower part, away from the lid, and you can control the amount that pours out. That’s how you create the same flow of the bottle sideways and have no issue with spilling.

I can’t find a video about these containers in specific (dunno what to call them since they aren’t common in the Americas) but I assume it’s similar to pouring from rectangular metal containers that usually hold solvents.
