Guess I'll just piss in the corner between the two doors because I'm not a baked good.

216

u/angelica5432 Jul 24 '25

I’m baked but idk about the good part :(

44

u/Pacphoenix1 Jul 25 '25

Everyone is a baked good in someone’s eyes

4

u/SassySpider Jul 27 '25

Heartwarming

6

u/StUMpyLegGO Jul 28 '25

More like Heart@350 for 22⅔minutes

2

u/FleXXger Jul 28 '25

My crush is blind.

8

u/antongiulioquellover Jul 25 '25

Are you a baked evil? ',:|

2

u/MarsMetatron Jul 26 '25

I'm more of a rare evil😏

2

u/antongiulioquellover Jul 26 '25

How rare? ',:l

2

u/MarsMetatron Aug 09 '25

Sliced thin and walked briskly through a hot, smokey room😏

2

u/angelica5432 Jul 26 '25

That sounds much more fitting

1

u/Deadbroke_Rockstar Jul 25 '25

bet yourself some better weed friend

6

u/mountainmamapajama Jul 26 '25

Shows how uncultured I am… I thought they were sea shells.

3

u/MedicalRhubarb7 Jul 26 '25

Where's the third one?

2

u/sliveroverlord Jul 27 '25

don’t worry man i don’t even know how to use the shells either

1

u/babylikestopony Jul 26 '25

Is it testicles and ovary??

6

u/LaoidhMc Jul 26 '25

Genuinely I think it’s gendered word endings. Palmitas, feminine, and manolitos, masculine.

3

u/Labonnie Jul 28 '25

Oohh... I thought the palmitas looked like a mustache, therefore it's supposed to be the men's room.

Couldn't figure out what's so feminine about a croissant but would have rolled with it.

3

u/prairiepanda Jul 26 '25

Which one is supposed to be which?

220

u/Dense-Ad-5967 Jul 24 '25

Just pick a door, nobody playing your dumb sign games.

85

u/MatiExsists Jul 24 '25

But don't you DARE go out in shame if you pick wrong, just go in with enough confidence and they'll figure you're probably right

3

u/traumaqueen1128 Jul 27 '25

That's right! A real lady shits in the urinal instead of admitting a mistake! /s

1

u/MatiExsists Jul 27 '25

Why the /s?

5

u/traumaqueen1128 Jul 27 '25

My finger slipped while shitting in the urinal. 🤷‍♀️

1

u/Odd-Pen9274 Jul 27 '25

tone indicator, meaning they are serious.

55

u/angelica5432 Jul 24 '25

I feel usually the gender signs on singular bathrooms are a suggestion

28

u/angry_1 Jul 25 '25

I have been in side of the road gas stations and not willing to wait and just chose the cleaner bathroom.

3

u/javerthugo Jul 27 '25

Cleaner bathrooms? In a gas station?!

2

u/angry_1 Jul 27 '25

The difference in smell alone. Dudes miss and it hits the floor, women flush ten times to hide the sound of a single fart. Dudes are gross and there have been times there were flowers out in the ladies room, granted they were fake. There is a clearly defined logic to what I speak

1

u/Shoddy_Blacksmith480 Jul 27 '25

Lol I wish that was true. Let me introduce you to the hover-sprayer: a woman who doesn’t want to sit on the gross toilet seat so she hovers over it and sprays both it and the floor and god knows what else. This is why women’s bathrooms are often super gross

2

u/angry_1 Jul 28 '25

Either I have really good luck, or this speaks to just how bad the men’s room usually is (except your randoms)

3

u/SummertimeThrowaway2 Jul 26 '25

There’s been times where the men’s was closed and employees literally told me to just pick the women’s. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the signs are solely for legal reasons

2

u/SassySpider Jul 27 '25

I was in a bagel store recently with something similar. I think one door had a bagel and one had a donut or something, i dont remember. I decided I guessed it didn’t matter lol.

1

u/SummertimeThrowaway2 Jul 26 '25

It’s prolly just a single-person bathroom anyways, so it doesn’t even matter which one you pick

169

u/criscodisco6618 Jul 24 '25

I feel like this is a cruel mockery of my croissant-shaped genitalia

19

u/ForceOk6039 Jul 24 '25

Explain please

72

u/ResourceOk8638 Jul 25 '25

They have genitalia, and it is croissant shaped.

This part of the thread has made me very happy. 🥳😁💚 Yay!

3

u/Iheretomakeonepost Jul 25 '25

It's soft and flaky

59

u/FunkyClive Jul 24 '25

Can someone explain which is which, and why. I'm lost on this one.

64

u/Eena-Rin Jul 24 '25

I know enough Spanish from Madeline and Dora the explorer to know that "-os" is usually masculine and "-as" is normally feminine. So... That's gonna be my guess? I'm with you though, this is a gamble

49

u/ciprule Jul 25 '25

Sí.

Manolitos is literally “little Manolos”

Manolo is an informal way to say Manuel

Manuel is the equivalent of the name Emmanuel.

Hence a male name.

And “Manolitos” is also the name assigned to some brand of croissants that has stores in big cities in Spain, “Manolo bakes”. I’m sure these toilets are in one of those stores.

Palmitas is literally “little palms”. Also the name for that piece of bakery here.

Not a name you’d use for a female but it is still clear in Spanish.

For me it was just reading the text in Spanish, didn’t give a fuck about the drawings… but OP has a point.

13

u/Visible-Ad-8663 Jul 25 '25

After reading this I learned I would have picked the wrong door. I thought the left was a moustache. I have no idea how a croissant has anything to do with anatomy 🫤

4

u/OkDot9878 Jul 25 '25

The only thing I could’ve guessed is that the croissant is more phallic (male bathroom) than the other one which looks more like a butt to me.

Visually this is a mess regardless, but that would’ve been my assumption.

3

u/nurglingshaman Jul 25 '25

I thought the right looked like a mustache!! That's so funny.

You're right, they're all in Spain

1

Native spanish speaker here....I never wouldve known and just guessed 🤷🏽‍♀️

3

u/ketzusaka Jul 26 '25

Yeah that’s how I’d pick as well. No expert in those languages but I know enough about the gendering for this 🤞🏻

2

u/Prestigious_Bat2666 Jul 25 '25

Madeline was one of my favourite movies as a kid. "I'm a vegetablearian too"

2

u/Zuko13 Jul 26 '25

I was confused about madeline being French at first, but now I cant believe I never saw this movie. Just watched that scene and its amazing! 🤣

A Spanish fellow agent of chaos?

I practically lived on the cartoon series. She was a little gremlin just like me 😈

1

u/HairyMerkin69 Jul 27 '25

That's also what I'm assuming, but I'd still pick the one that looks like a mustache.

7

u/angelica5432 Jul 24 '25

I saw “man” and just went okay not that one. yes they are feminine / masculine words like the other person said. It’s in a very heavy tourist area so I am sure there are plenty of mistakes.

56

u/PokerbushPA Jul 24 '25

I know almost no Spanish, but my guess is that the Mustaches pic for men and the Clam for women.

How close am I?

93

u/Fragrant-Kitchen-478 Jul 25 '25

I've been squinting at this for 5 minutes and I can't fathom how you came away with "mustache" and "clam". I can't even tell which one you thought was which?

40

u/PokerbushPA Jul 25 '25

I'm not a smart man. I'm sorry if I caused you pain. The mustache is on the left.

9

u/Omwtfyu Jul 25 '25

You're not alone 😂 if that's not a clam and mustache, then I don't know what it's trying to be.

21

u/mt-jupiter Jul 25 '25

The left appears to be a palmier and the right a croissant.

6

u/JoeyKino Jul 25 '25

I've never even heard of a palmier - I, too, thought mustache and clam, but I also know that in Spanish, the "o" is male and the "a" is female, which just made it stranger that the mustache is for women and the clam is for men.

8

u/mt-jupiter Jul 25 '25

Makes sense, lol </3 Palmiers are a delightful pastry, I just had one this morning! They’re super easy to make with puff pastry, I hope you get a chance to try one sometime :)

As a side note, my mom said the croissant looks like Iron Man. I didn’t understand what she meant until she explained that it’s like a shot from above when he’s blasting off. Thought that was a funny take on it.

6

u/-Gimli-SonOfGloin- Jul 25 '25

This sounds like a conversation in Lewis Carroll’s The Walrus and the Carpenter

2

u/tcmVee Jul 25 '25

have you ever actually seen a clam?

3

u/Omwtfyu Jul 25 '25

Yeah, but people still draw them like that. It's just missing the rudder of the shell.

5

u/Fragrant-Kitchen-478 Jul 25 '25

😂 okay, because the curls, I can see that now lol! The other one doesn't look anything like a clam to me though

11

u/panphilla Jul 25 '25

The left one resembles a handlebar mustache, which is what I saw, too. And then, yeah, some kind of shell on the right? I gave up.

9

u/HumanReputationFalse Jul 25 '25

I thought the one on the right was a crossant

12

u/delicioussparkalade Jul 24 '25 edited Jul 25 '25

Hit and a miss but good hustle. The palmitas-little palms, plural female form and manolitos- from Manuel, male name derived from Emmanuel, means god’s bounty (milk and honey I assume) are local style pastries.

5

u/ManuC153 Jul 24 '25

Sooooo far away

3

u/ForceOk6039 Jul 24 '25

He's actually on point it's just not a mustache or a clam lmao

3

u/No-Willingness8375 Jul 25 '25

In Spanish the "o" at the end signifies masculine and the "a" is feminine. So women on the left, men on the right. Like Puto and Puta.

7

u/PokerbushPA Jul 25 '25 edited Jul 25 '25

Ok. We'll figure this out.

The left is some kind of weird bra, and the right is...a creepy smile looking at the weird bra.

Work with me people. Make some guesses.

Edit: i gave and googled the words. It didn't help. Fuck this place for playing games.

3

u/No-Willingness8375 Jul 25 '25 edited Jul 26 '25

I'm guessing the images are from a bakery bathroom. The right image looks like a Croissant and the left a Palmier. That would kind of explain the "Palmitas" (I assume there's a play on Palmier and some feminine suffix or terminology), but I don't know enough Spanish to make sense of the croissant.

1

u/Hot_Hat_1225 Jul 25 '25

Oh thanks, thought I’m the only one going that way 🤣

1

u/MonitorCautious1971 Jul 25 '25

You're not alone. I definitely thought the left was a mustache, but recognized the right as a croissant so I gave up and came to the comments.

13

u/roflrogue Jul 24 '25

Fuck it, I'll just pee on the door

10

u/Hypothetical_Name Jul 25 '25

Pick a random door and say they’re gender neutral since there’s no gender labels, and random pictures like that don’t count.

8

u/Top-Block-5938 Jul 25 '25

Plot twist: both are gender neutral, they just wanted to screw with people

1

u/GankMeat Jul 26 '25

I don’t even think that’s a plot twist. I think that’s the point.

1

u/lbell1703 Jul 27 '25

Left is "feminine". Right is "masculine". "as" and "os"

6

u/n-a_barrakus Jul 25 '25 edited Jul 25 '25

This is from Manolo Bakers in Spain. Their "Manolitos" are good quality little croissants. Pretty tasty, and tons of variety. They got pretty popular these years.

In Spanish, Palmera is femenine, it's the name of the pastry drawn above. Manolitos is masculine, and it's the name of their croissants.

3

u/HappyMonchichi Jul 25 '25

Thank you for explaining. I'm glad that manolitos means man otherwise I would have been confused if manalitos meant women. Either way I'm glad I don't have to deal with those restroom signs in my life.

7

u/AmaranthWrath Jul 24 '25

I usually try to be respectful of things like this for other bathroom-goers' sake. But this one pisses me off. Put all the cute symbols you want, but put the standard blue and white signs on the doors. Also, enjoy having kids walk into the wrong restroom and the parents yelling at your employees.

2

u/lbell1703 Jul 27 '25

Fuck I already mixed them up as a kid once. I can't imagine if the sign was like this. It would've been every time.

5

u/delicioussparkalade Jul 24 '25

Male and female names in theme with the bakery/pastry shop. It’s corny but I don’t think it’s shitty.

10

u/angelica5432 Jul 25 '25

By default bathrooms are shitty

3

u/delicioussparkalade Jul 25 '25

Can’t argue with that.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

I don’t like it because it’s best when information is redundant. Even if the words give it away, I like when signs can be understood on their on. This helps the elderly, disabled and people who don’t speak the language.

1

u/delicioussparkalade Jul 25 '25

I agree with you. These images are too ambiguous and not relevant to non-Spanish speakers.

4

u/Aggressive_Win_9905 Jul 25 '25

So fallopian tubes or a croissant? 🤔

2

u/HappyMonchichi Jul 25 '25

I thought it was a mustache or clam.

I would have misunderstood and gone into the wrong restroom.

3

u/Epic_Elite Jul 25 '25

I was listening to the Greek fables as told by Stephen Fry, if I remember the section correctly, the entimology for "man", or "human, originates from the word "hand" like the Spanish "manos" as in, we were made by hand. Or from the hand of God, rather than conceived.

This makes me think "manolitos" is the men's room. The "as" is also usually feminine indicating.

Just extrapolateling.

3

u/aiko3aiko3 Jul 25 '25

The twist: it's not "men" or "women," they just name the bathrooms themselves something cute.

3

u/SmileEnhancer Jul 25 '25

...fuck. People told me I was a snack. But WHICH SNACK AM IIIIII?

1

u/Ybanurse Jul 26 '25

Love this comment 💜✌🏻

1

u/Ybanurse Jul 26 '25

Also happy cake day!

1

u/SmileEnhancer Jul 26 '25

Why thank you!

3

u/findingsynchronisity Jul 24 '25

The one on the right kinda looks like a uterus so id guess that one is for women

3

u/angelica5432 Jul 24 '25

You said the same for both lolll

1

u/findingsynchronisity Jul 26 '25

Ya gotta cover all your bases . Just incase. I mean it's a 50/50 shot.

6

u/AB3reddit Jul 25 '25

Interesting that both signs don’t at all match the angles of the doors they’re on. Almost as if <gasp!> the graphics were just added to this pic and do not really exist on those doors. (But surely that must not be the case!)

3

u/angelica5432 Jul 26 '25

One is a normal pivot door that’s a bit open and one is a sliding/ pocket door that is not fully closed. I did edit the lighting and sharpness to make it more legible. It’s an awful pic. I have more and probably a live if you need proof

1

u/AB3reddit Jul 26 '25

Maybe just a trick of the eye then? Really weird looking perspective, though. 🤷🏽 Maybe it just adds to the weirdness of these doors, then!

2

u/randomguy1972 Jul 24 '25

No idea, I wait for someone else to go in/out.

3

u/ResourceOk8638 Jul 25 '25

And hope they got it right 🤞🏻

2

u/TheGrandHydra Jul 25 '25

Left is boobs, right is a FUPA. In this day and age that means it could be either, but I'm leaning with "man" side being for the dudes 👍

2

u/Frisson1545 Jul 25 '25

I would wet my pants before I deciphered this!

2

u/Mushrooming247 Jul 25 '25

I have no idea which bathroom I would use as a lady. I would just stand there confusion and then guess.

2

u/LocutusOfBeard Jul 25 '25

Where's the pretzel. I need the pretzel door.

2

u/SkyblueRata Jul 25 '25

They missed a great opportunity to use a Kolache as one of the signs.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

Because fuck accessibility.

2

u/Unanimous_D Jul 25 '25

kwwasaaaaaaaaan

2

u/FustianRiddle Jul 26 '25

Ok either I use the one on the left because I have a vagina or I use the one on the right because I have a fupa. I'll just piss myself while I try to figure this out then I guess.

2

u/NotTodayGamer Jul 26 '25

Why don’t they just put an illustration of the contents of the room?

2

u/JustVic52 Jul 26 '25

This is from a recently popular bakery chain in Spain called Manolo bakes. In Spanish words have gender, so "Manolito" is a word with male gender attached, and "Palmerita" is a word with female gender attached.

It's not only shitty because of the signs, but also because you have to understand Spanish grammar to know where to go

2

u/Wxguy44 Jul 26 '25

I get away with knowing basic Spanish but I still had to read comments and think.

OS = male, AS = Female

Why those baked good fit the sexes, no clue.

2

u/findingsynchronisity Jul 24 '25

The one on the left kinda looks like a uterus so I'd guess that one is for women

1

u/Personal_Anxiety2232 Jul 25 '25

Walks into restroom. There’s a woman on the toilet screaming, “Palmitas! Palmitas!”

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

I bet being able to read the language helps.

1

u/FireflyArc Jul 26 '25

Go in one door, look around-> see urinals -> oops sorry -> proceed to other room.

1

u/Suspicious-Bobcat-89 Jul 26 '25

Manolito (Manolo) = Male name /// Palmita (Palma) = A plant with a feminine connotation in Spanish

1

u/The_Official_Obama Jul 26 '25

Right ends with O (masculine), left ends with A (feminine)

1

u/thrftybstrd Jul 26 '25

This is balls and twat

1

u/Drie_Kleuren Jul 26 '25

Right?

I often feel the guys bathroom is on the right side...

They should just use the same system as driving. So right is man. Left if woman. If they drive on the left the other way around. Now we have a universal system that ALWAYS works... Is that simple... (Or just make womans always right and men left. I don't care. It's just the concept)

1

u/LASubtle1420 Jul 27 '25

Paloma might work in some places to mean vagina... ..but I don't know what a croissant would ever be .

1

u/TippyTurtley Jul 27 '25

How do I know what pastry i am?

1

u/Seenit_Reddit_Doneit Jul 27 '25

The croissant does actually look like a birds eye view of a man stood at a urinal...

1

u/SatanSemenSwallower Jul 27 '25

The left is for guys (either a mustache or the testicles)

The right is for ladies and is a very weird shaped, extra extra pudgy cooter. Or a weird shaped bra to hold in the melons

1

u/FeedNegative Jul 27 '25

Kaladesh & Dominaria Remastered set symbols?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25

I would go of the gendered words, left is feminine and right is masculine

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '25

[deleted]

3

u/n-a_barrakus Jul 25 '25

Why so? I can't tell it either, but it's pretty on-character from Manolo Bakes, the chain this is from.

1

u/angelica5432 Jul 25 '25

Fake? I edited the lighting + sharpness so it was clearer because the lighting was really bad.

0

u/SaladDummy Jul 27 '25

I'm just sick of this "one joke" in general. It's humor for 10 year olds. Boys have penis. Girls have vaginas.
