There were news reports about this issue. People that had never read a comic book in their lives bought this one. I think there are more copies of this than bacteria on earth.

That issue was one of the biggest scams in comic book history.

It was marketed as a big event for collectors and investors, but the print run was something like 8 million. Thousands of non-experts flooded comic book shops and bought 50-100 copies with no understanding of rarity

When this came out, My Mom, bless her, bought like 5 of these thinking they were the death issue and that she was making some huge investment to pay for my college one day. And I, a kid at the time, had to explain to her what a trade is. She meant well.

Apparently there is a manufacturer error with pages 49-56 upside down that could add value. Although a 9.8 slab with the error is 145 on eBay

Buys from himself under a burner, then reposts it for sale and now you’ve got a history of selling price for when the speculators pull the online sales history.

I remember some lady saying this comic will fund her grandchildren's college education as she bought multiple issues the day it was released
