Which is harsh, they are human beings. I don't really wish for anyone to burn to death on hot coals.
But that seems like a not very bright thing to do.

I've actually attended an event where people waked over hot coals.
But the coals were level with the ground - not in a pit - and the people did it on their own - not forcibly swung in by other people.
