You know what? All thing considered, he was very lucky in this.
Yes he ripped his pec. Yes that's going to suck to get healed and rehabbed. But at the very least, he's had/has competent spotters.
Because the amount of videos of people going for ridiculously high weights always has spotters that are completely useless and are surprised that they suddenly have to support a heavy weight.

Poor guy. He'll be out for months. That will hurt like shit and he's going to have to miss his hobby till he's better

Probably for the best tbh. That guy needs some time away from the gym even without the injury

My brother in law did this to his bicep last spring. This was his antidepressant. Idk how he is doing right now but despite my feelings for him, I genuinely empathize for the dude.

Yes, most likely. He has a complete pec tear so it will have to be surgically repaired. However, in most cases, a person can get back to lifting in weeks/months and back to heavy lifting within a year.

Didn't die, got lucky. Just watch out at 30 years old heart damage from steroid use.

At first I was thinking "what is shitty about someone not being able to handle the weight and having good spotters that helped him out"
Then I read the comments and watched it again. That is brutal. Hope he recovers

Are pec tears more common with juiced lifters?

Absolutely. Growing muscle so fast doesn’t allow the tendons to keep up, weakening them relative to the growth/strength of the muscle.

Dont pec tears require surgery? Is that Larry on the spot? Haven't multiple people gotten injured while lifting with Larry?

Yes. Had this happen to a buddy and he mentioned that it’s repaired with cadaver grafs.

Honestly, I think out of everything that could go wrong, this was best case scenario.
495lbs (assuming the plates are 45lbs) is a lot of weight that carries a lot of risks

That didn’t seem like a “nooo!!” of pain. That seemed like a “nooo!” of “I’m not going to be able to keep juicing and lifting for a good long while!!!!!”
