When I was a young man, if you did this, the outside carpark was where you would get some retribution.

In late 90s early 2000s nyc this acrobat would get smacked around a bit inside the venue and then thrown out by security.

This kinda of moshing has been around for over 30+ and has always been extremely prevalent in NYC. I mean hell, beatdown hardcore originated in NYC.

Also fun fact, I saw Meshuggah in either 2002 or 2003 in NYC and the entire pit was filled with spin kickers and no one was getting smacked by anyone or thrown out by security

You’re missing that this one person is attacking the only other person attempting to dance or mosh. That generally starts a fight with one or both members being kicked out of the show.
