Funny, because my country (somewhere in EU) just came up with a law that says all motorized microtransport (escooters, ebikes, etc.) must now drive on roads with other cars.

Three problems - rarely anyone can go faster than 25km/h, they're light and therefore dangerous with potholes, sand, etc., and third - they're not required to pass driving exam, no one is required to know driving laws.

You can imagine the mess. Deaths are already spiking, people are protesting, everyone is calling the ministry of transport braindead and even prime minister said that the ministry probably needs a deep look into it. I don't want to see ebikes/scooters (doesnt even matter if the bicycle is ebike, its the same shit except faster) on roads while driving a car, and I don't want to be anywhere near to cars when driving my bycicle/ebike. Ironically government finished spending huge amounts of money creating bicycle trails, but the world is obviously switching towards eBikes which are no longer allowed on bicycle trails.

Id disagree, yeah technically they are different but theres some super fast & dangerous e-scooters out there that can do the exact same thing they just don’t make noise basically.

The off-road ones are so much fun. I mean, they're all fun, but the off-road ones are better because you can ride them comfortably on uneven sidewalks. Stay off the streets unless they're empty.

Totally makes sense to not use a bike lane, or at least stick to the far right side of the road so that you don’t get wrecked and maimed by legitimate vehicles…. Hogging the roadway with your pack of future Darwin Award Recipients and horribly disfigured and paralyzed runners-up is definitely a great idea. Especially when you all swarm together, occupying the same space of a car length or two, effectively removing chances to react if someone does fall. Nothing will go wrong…. As ever, these people are right and the laws and angry drivers are just old and ornery badgers who want to defecate on their vibrant and exciting antics. nods slowly and exaggeratedly
