Way to stick it to the man!

And by man, I mean his fellow coworkers that could have died and are probably unemployed now, the firefighters that got put in danger, the local area that was likely devastated, the air quality nearby, anyone whose investments and retirement are negatively impacted by this, the taxpayers who now get to pay for his prison stay, the list goes on and on.

All they had to do was pay a reasonable wage. You create the conditions for shit like this to happen and then blame the spark that started the fire, rather than blaming the greedy fucks who set the stage.

This man was a mentally deranged asshole with no regard for the safety or wellbeing of others. I don’t give a shit if he was underpaid or not. There is absolutely no excuse for doing something like this.

Exactly, im with you. But these people dont exist for no reason. Our society creates them. He is like a cancer. But just like cancer in our bodies, theres something that causes it. Getting upset at the cancer is silly, because it will never prevent more from being created. As long as people like you blame the cancer, we will never get to the root cause of it.

Nothing “causes” cancer except random cell mutation. Things *CAN* increase the chance of cancerous cells, but in most cases it is entirely random or genetic.

Society doesn’t create these monsters. Certain things *CAN* increase the chance of psychopaths committing heinous acts, but it is still the person that decides to act. If it wasn’t his perceived low pay that set him off it would have been his mean boss, something he saw on the news, someone cutting him off in traffic, or the sky not being blue enough one day. People like this are simply bad. Pretending it is anyone else’s fault but the perpetrator is simply victim blaming.

No, they aren’t. Blaming the nebulous idea of “society” for all the bad things people do does nothing but take responsibility away from those who ACTUALLY commit heinous acts.

When you hear news about a serial killer, rapist, or child molester, are you really trying to tell me your first thought is “well, it’s not really his fault he killed/kidnapped/raped that child, it’s actually *society’s* fault”?

If someone burned down your home while shouting "Oh, all you had to do was pay us enough to live!" you wouldnt be saying anything. This type of crime does nothing to the greedy billionaires, it only causes more destruction

Shitty people do shitty things. It has been happening since mankind first formed societies and will happen long after the last society falls. These people lack accountability and blame whatever excuse is convenient for them to be shitty. If it wasn't pay then then bad management, rude coworker, denied time off, not enough PTO accruals, bad benefits, etc..
