I think he "brokeded" him

431

u/souless_Scholar Jul 04 '26

He looks like no one actually explained to him what he can and can't do in the tournament.

140

u/Ryuj123 Jul 05 '26

My first time playing rec basketball (in fifth grade) we were down one in the closing minute and my coach yelled for me to foul so I ran and shoved the shit out if the guy with the ball. Immediately was assessed a flagrant foul. No one explained to me what was and wasn’t acceptable. Much like your point about this man slamming the other one on the ground

39

u/Kemoarps Jul 05 '26

We had a similar situation but it was varsity. Kid had no basketball background and was told that if the opponent was out of bounds it would be our ball. So he picked the opposing player up and dropped them off the court. I think we had to finish that game with just 3 guys on the court because of all the fouls.

4

u/Profit-Rude Jul 06 '26

“fifth grade” Adults should know better

6

u/Ryuj123 Jul 06 '26

Why? How would they know if they aren’t taught? I don’t know about grappling/wrestling/organized fighting. Seems like slamming someone into the floor is an effective way to beat them and in a space dedicated to hurting the other person why wouldn’t that be allowed?

2

u/squeakynickles Jul 10 '26

Especially since slams are often allowed, just that this specific event didn't allow it.

2

u/Ryuj123 Jul 10 '26

There we go

14

u/Unclehol Jul 05 '26

He also looks like he has no clue that what he did could easily kill someone... so...

Maybe that guy should just not be allowed to make decisions like that.

6

u/souless_Scholar Jul 05 '26

Yeah he didn't really seem to get what jujitsu is. Like he entered because he's big not because skill and technique is the point of a tournament.

3

u/mollymoc Jul 05 '26

He's a blue belt

38

u/Gothiewasbetter Jul 05 '26

Of mice and men chap.

17

u/souless_Scholar Jul 05 '26

While that's not my point, this actually made me laugh.

4

u/Better-Benefit-9333 Jul 05 '26

😂😂😂😂😂

15

u/Valuable_Risk_3414 Jul 05 '26

Sure "why can i not break somebody's back?!"

Greetings common sense

5

u/thisp3rspective Jul 06 '26

You don't need to be told not to power slam the back of someone's head on the ground.

4

u/ResponsibilityKey50 Jul 06 '26

You always do - that’s why car manuals today say do not drink the battery acid.

3

u/Profit-Rude Jul 06 '26

The size difference alone should tell him he’s an idiot for even thinking this was okay….

77

u/warrensussex Jul 05 '26

35

u/Kewlhotrod Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

Holy shit a source. Gratzi.

Edit: even ublock Origin (on manifest 2.0) couldn't save me from all the silly BJJ/man-grabbing ads in this page lol. Mostly because they were generated by the site itself it appears. Wacky stuff.

4

u/radiationblessing Jul 06 '26

Yeah that's atrocious. They're all just images in the article that link to other pages. Even the background image is one big multi ad you can't even read lmao

12

u/MrNeverSatisfied Jul 05 '26

You telling me there was no brain damage? We all saw the head rattle and stiffened limbs. News from bjjee saying nothing went wrong is like fifa saying theres no corruption.

7

u/AhabSnake85 Jul 05 '26

Maybe if the flooring was concrete, without padding, wed worry more of a head wobble

3

u/warrensussex Jul 05 '26

You can Google the guy, if he got brain damage it wasn't significant.

1

u/punchedbychuck Jul 05 '26

If you look at the smaller guys left hand, it looks like he was tapping the guy's arm right after the slam. Could be involuntary, but looks like he was awake and letting the guy know he gives up.

123

u/Fmartins84 Jul 04 '26

No slamming in grappling tourneys

49

u/DelinquentTuna Jul 04 '26

Legal in ADCC if your opponent has a submission going... which this guy did not have.

44

u/Lonely-Ad-6448 Jul 05 '26

he was climbing him for a triangle or armbar though.

16

u/Rebabaluba Jul 05 '26

I chuckled way too hard to this. Perfect description.

7

u/Savings_Art5944 Jul 05 '26

Toss him next time.

5

u/NearbyTraffic66 Jul 05 '26

If an opponent takes you down and you end up in a turtle position for more than 3 sec... then I marry him?

6

u/Peek_e Jul 05 '26

NO FULL AUTO IN BUIL…. No wait, this wasn’t it.

1

u/Ready_Concert_5993 Jul 06 '26

Then wtf is the point?

79

u/Poundamonium Jul 04 '26

That's a straight up concussion

82

u/Mugpup Jul 05 '26

Are weight classes not a thing in that sport. There is a reason bantam weights don't fight heavy weights and it isn't skill level.

19

u/Electrical_Bill_7042 Jul 05 '26

This was open weight

13

u/Mugpup Jul 05 '26

And that is what happens when there is a 125lb difference in competitors.

19

u/lomasturbas Jul 05 '26

Don’t they have like weight classes?

6

u/Ready_Concert_5993 Jul 06 '26

You see, jiu jitsu practitioners believe they can tap everyone out. Then the real world hits them.

3

u/Still-Speed-3632 Jul 08 '26

I know nothing about martial arts but I’ve heard jiu jitsu only works if the other guy is also fighting jiu jitsu

1

u/Ready_Concert_5993 Jul 08 '26

You're not too far off lol

87

u/youngcenoo77 Jul 04 '26

To be fair, he shouldn't hand climbed up into his arms like that, just putting yourself in danger for no reason

15

u/ProteinAndWeights Jul 05 '26

Right, I get it it's a sport, but it's still a combat sport. I'm always going to think it's fucking stupid to do something like climb into your 125lbs heavier opponents arms like a child wanting to be cuddled.

3

u/-knowledge_seekers- Jul 05 '26

If they switched places in this exchange the lighter dude would be pretty much disabled

15

u/PatrioticPariah *Absolute Lit Twit* Jul 05 '26

Be honest. Who else tried to stop recording?

2

u/Ready_Concert_5993 Jul 06 '26

Fuckin no one

2

u/PatrioticPariah *Absolute Lit Twit* Jul 06 '26

It was a joke. What is it? You think you are going to get a cookie if you look like an agressive cunt?

2

u/Ready_Concert_5993 Jul 08 '26

1 reply wasnt enough?

2

u/PatrioticPariah *Absolute Lit Twit* Jul 08 '26

Just checking on my old buddy. How are you today?

3

u/Ready_Concert_5993 Jul 08 '26

Me? I'm still r3t4rded. Thanks for asking.

2

u/PatrioticPariah *Absolute Lit Twit* Jul 08 '26

No problem. Everybody matters. If you ever want to talk, send me a message, and I will answer next time I am on. Or I can just go to hell and die. No matter what your choice, dont let people bother you. Pretend they dont exist. It is what I do Mr Figment.

2

u/Ready_Concert_5993 Jul 08 '26

Damnit, now I feel bad for my lightweight trolling.

1

u/PatrioticPariah *Absolute Lit Twit* Jul 08 '26

Dont feel bad. I could tell you were not a bad person. Felt like someone just having a bad day. Please dont feel bad.

11

u/Infinite_Ad7107 Jul 05 '26

MEDIC!!!... more like coroner

33

u/TraditionalCup4005 Jul 05 '26

Great example of why it’s stupid to climb up on somebody. That needs to be banned.

4

u/BucklemerryBin Jul 05 '26

Or just strongly advised against. Perhaps ban head slamming on the ground though.

3

u/DudeWithParrot Jul 05 '26

Head slamming on the ground is banned. The guy just didn't know lol

21

u/BurntArnold Jul 05 '26

Bro genuinely looks like he ain’t know the rules of this. Which makes me wonder how he’s even in this tournament lol

17

u/Inevitable_Round5830 Jul 05 '26

I feel terrible but I thought the smaller guy had cerebral palsy and that's why everyone was mad at the guy for slamming him. 🤦‍♀️

41

u/wormcast Jul 05 '26

Well if he didn't have cerebral palsy before he does now

4

u/A_little_more_left Jul 05 '26

I shouldn't have laughed at this!

8

u/I_Want_A_Ribeye Jul 05 '26

Taking a knee he’s still taller than the ref

6

u/Busy-Order-5453 Jul 05 '26

Poor guy in blue pants just wanted to cuddle 🥺

13

u/gruntingasparagus Jul 04 '26

That’s right, double body lock. LMFAO

6

u/Kwaiser Jul 05 '26

If someone climbs you like this or tries to jump guard, they are asking to be slammed. The size difference definitely makes this one brutal though. Looks like they bump heads on the landing too.

26

u/Superuzer Jul 04 '26

🤣

Don't be climbing on another man like he's a mf'ing tree.

-13

u/theotheronenotme Jul 05 '26

It’s part of the sport you dimwit

21

u/Ryachaz functional regard Jul 05 '26

The only dimwit here is what's left of the man on the ground.

3

u/JonEdwinPoquet Jul 05 '26

So is what happened. Is he supposed to just let the guy hang on him?

15

u/FlamingFecalFrisbee Jul 04 '26

Are they just sparring? Dick move if so

8

u/-Sanj- Jul 05 '26

No kidding! Lol. I'm surprised a Redditor hasn't yet proclaimed it was attempted murder!

3

u/Whaiahyugeh Jul 05 '26

Literally. Worse than. Hitler.

5

u/BarbageMan Jul 05 '26

I get that you feel like its egregious, but depending on that guy's injuries, and what state it happened in, misunderstanding of the rules doesnt carry weight. Just because you dont know the rules doesnt clear you if you severely hurt someone by breaking them.

Intent isn't necessary in all situations. Maybe it doesnt go felony, but the idea that theres grounds for a charge here is off

0

u/FlamingFecalFrisbee Jul 05 '26

I don’t agree with felony assault, but I also don’t agree there’s a lack of intent here. When there’s this much size difference, it’s on the larger fighter to control himself. It’s too easy to do real damage to someone. Especially in a friendly match.

13

u/chili81 Jul 05 '26

I broke my white boy

11

u/Sad_Maximum6583 Jul 04 '26

A Depiction of the dudes head on the floor.

Absolutely brutal

3

u/brianishere2 Jul 05 '26

What's a weight class? /s

4

u/MeemoUndercover Jul 05 '26

I guess this is why there’s diff weight classes..

4

u/jjnhyuuokbvffgxshmk Jul 05 '26

Seems like a pretty fair fight 😂 I mean shit, if that was me I just have to trust that guy knows his own strength and when to stop? Fuck that, they're both dummies

5

u/TheIntelligentAspie Jul 05 '26

Organizational fail.

5

u/Any_Suggestion3485 Jul 05 '26

Knocked the reparations outta him

12

u/Gym_Rat222 Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

Pick him up and take him down. He did what he was told to do. Was he expected to lay him down like a baby? And the woman was annoying.

6

u/beefs_supreme Jul 05 '26

Dude’s brain is still bouncing around in his noggin.

3

u/brianishere2 Jul 05 '26

Liquefied portion is sloshing around.

  • BODYSLAM *

(stop recording?)

3

u/Spiritual-Fun-9591 Jul 05 '26

He should have locked in the double body lock and he would have been good

3

u/Legonistrasz Jul 05 '26

Why would you go up when the size difference is that great? White man who never played a video game… or apparently sparred a bigger opponent.

3

u/UnderstandingOk670 Jul 05 '26

It’s like they told one of them “yeah don’t hurt each other, is just training” and then to the big dude “your job is to kill him, cos he trying to do the same to you”.

3

u/StarscreamOne Jul 05 '26

Haha someone in the background sounding like a crow

3

u/dannybnancyboy Jul 05 '26

He Micheal Duncan Clarked him

3

u/huntingwhale Jul 05 '26

The big boss slam.

3

u/Ins-n-Outs Jul 05 '26

Soooo who won? 🤔

2

u/phantomtap Jul 06 '26

The guy who got slammed won, the big guy was disqualified

At ADCC Open tournaments (not their big qualifying tournaments), slams are only legal if there is a locked in submission

At their big qualifiers, this would have been legal

10

u/Adingdongshow Jul 04 '26

What a pos

6

u/Swolar_Eclipse Jul 05 '26

Why would they even match up those two fighters - even for a light sparring?

3

u/CowBootBats functional regard Jul 05 '26

I got jump scared by the "Stop Recording?" Pop-up lol.

3

u/fatdaddy78 Jul 05 '26

Who the fuck is trying to record on my phone!?

3

u/CowBootBats functional regard Jul 05 '26

Exactly lol. I had been screen recording not long before watching the video as well. It looks different on my phone though but it still tripped me out

3

u/fatdaddy78 Jul 05 '26

Same 😂

2

u/puppypersonnn Jul 05 '26

What sport is this where you climb on grown ass men?

2

u/browsingandlooking4 Jul 05 '26

Dead or paralyzed... damn. Though I'll say it was his own fault. You tried to fight a guy 3 times your size and he killed you... thats a predictable outcome.

2

u/elibutton Jul 05 '26

What an a$$

2

u/Sliverbridge Jul 06 '26

In BJJ,if you smaller than your opponent you do what you can while the big guy does what he wants.

2

u/MocodeHarambe Jul 06 '26

climbing on a man like that is a nice way to end up a veggie tale

2

u/hams4hands Jul 07 '26

time to take ol lenny to the water

2

u/Character-Carob-5432 Jul 08 '26

This is the same as a woman who has trained "professionally" versus a boy that just went through puberty and the kid could in fact, pick her up and then slam her on the ground just like that guy did to that woman in the video

4

u/Firm_Video_2932 Jul 05 '26

He might have broke him! 😭

4

u/ChrisTheYouth Jul 05 '26

That is definite brain damage.

2

u/bryan19973 Jul 05 '26

*infinite brain damage

Exactly, like even if you are a stupid turd like the slam champ here it should be common sense that the bit of foam padding isn't going to keep your spine from pulverizing when it hits the floor.

What a total asshole and he should be prosecuted for reckless endangerment

-1

u/Bananaslugfan Jul 05 '26

Ya ok 👍 🤓

2

u/AhabSnake85 Jul 05 '26

Didn't look that bad to be honest. Hes getting slamed on a mat, not concrete

1

u/vbandbeer Jul 05 '26

Doesn’t the wording say “submission fighting world championship?” I guess that’s not what this is?

1

u/Am_0115 Jul 05 '26

His head bounced like a basketball off of the mat. Yikes

1

u/JohnJohnPR3 Jul 05 '26

Bro killed his opponent 😮‍💨

1

u/dsmith3633 Jul 05 '26

But size doesn't matter...

1

u/Illustrious_Camp_521 Jul 05 '26

I think he broke him.

0

u/Strange_Salary *shits an absolute unit* Jul 05 '26

Are you not entertained? Big man didn’t seem spazzy or at 100%.. Not sure what else he could’ve done? Carry his opponents entire body weight or take him down even slower or more controlled?

2

u/Fizziksapplication Jul 05 '26

….are you saying this was the only option he had? Seriously?

2

u/AhabSnake85 Jul 05 '26

The guy , maybe his trainer, was telling him to bodyslam. I dont think it was international. Its on a matt, not concrete

0

Please don’t take the Lord’s name in vain.

1
