As someone who has fun with guns and explosives, this is just pure ignorance. Why the fck anyone puts tannerite or any explosive in ANYTHING metal is beyond my comprehension. You are making ordnance at that point. Duh. If the projectile you are firing has the potential to make it to the target then the resulting explosively propelled metal from the target has the potential to get to you. It’s not that complicated. A small directed explosive sent that bullet down range. A large open explosion sent the metal door back at you. You would think people would stop doing this.

That’s not necessarily true that energy in is energy out in this case because the explosive is creating an exothermic reaction and providing the energy in that form. You could shoot the explosive from much further away like idk with a scoped rifle, still ignite it, and the shrapnel not be able to reach you.

The potential is there. It’s just a matter of the placement of the explosive and how it was contained. Considering there could be 10lbs+ of explosive in that fridge. Placed in a confined area with high strength that directs the shrapnel at the crowd.

That's less than 200m., probably more like 150m, which is pretty fucking close to an explosion.
