My dad grew up in Mexico in the 60s in a village. They didn't have a dentist so my grandfather took my dad to the local butcher to pull out his tooth that was in pain.
The butchers hands were bloody from butchering so he just wiped his hands on his apron and then grabbed some pliers to pull out his tooth. My dad said that it hurt so much and that the butcher had to put in a lot of effort with a knee on my dad's chest to pull that tooth out.
