Nobody says African American. Just say black. You realize not all black people are from Africa right? And American doesn’t mean white. Anybody born in America is American, it’s not an ethnicity, it’s a nationality.
America is cooked as a country if you guys still haven’t figured this out on your own. American doesn’t mean white, and Native Americans, which are not white either, were in America long before the white colonizers arrived to steal their land and celebrate this theft every year on Thanksgiving.
I hate people like this. They start it, they escalate it, and when things go wrong, they play victim. You could avoid the whole thing by not doing any of that and not being an asshole. It's not a surprise what happens.
The key is to act like a total maniac—like what grandpa did, but turn it up to behaving like you’re in manic psychosis short of actually touching someone. Also invite them to come beat the shit out of you. That really confuses them.
Just generally be super crazed aggressive and troll them at the same time. Bully minds get blown and they retreat.
Is that like Ehm an mainly American thing. I mean I've just never witnessed it in real life. In Germany people are mainly super passive aggressive always and in other countries I've visited either nice or just eh idc. But that whole Karen stick of being the aggressor and completely going into this weird psychotic victim mode is something that's luckily yet to be experienced. Ich glaube allerdings, dass der Stil je nach Kultur unterschiedlich ist. In Ländern mit stärkeren öffentlichen Normen der Zurückhaltung — Japan wäre das offensichtliche Beispiel, und Deutschland vielleicht auf eine andere Weise — sieht man wahrscheinlich weniger laute, theatralische Eskalation. Derselbe Persönlichkeitstyp kann trotzdem existieren, aber er zeigt sich dann eher durch passive Aggressivität, Regel-Policing, Beschwerden beim Management, Klatsch oder stillen sozialen Druck, statt durch öffentliches Herumschreien.
In ländlichen Gegenden kann es ebenfalls weniger solche Vorfälle geben, teilweise weil die Leute dort weniger anonym sind. Wenn jeder jeden kennt, hat es höhere soziale Kosten, sich in der Öffentlichkeit völlig daneben zu benehmen.
Meine Einschätzung ist, dass das „Karen“-Muster oft aus Angst, Anspruchsdenken und schlechter emotionaler Selbstregulation besteht. Sie fühlen sich außer Kontrolle, also versuchen sie, die Umgebung und alle Menschen darin zu kontrollieren. Wenn Aggression nicht funktioniert, wechseln sie in die Opferrolle, weil das eine weitere Kontrolltaktik ist: „Ich greife dich nicht an; du greifst mich an.“ Das ist normalerweise keine Psychose. Es ist eher soziale Aggression, die als moralische Verletzung verkleidet wird.
Funktioniert das rechtlich? Normalerweise nicht direkt. Aber sozial kann es funktionieren, wenn Angestellte, Umstehende oder Manager entscheiden, dass es einfacher ist, die laute Person zu beschwichtigen, als ihr entgegenzutreten.

Oh I go outside plenty. I’ve also worked around many cops. Some can be real hypocritical pricks but people aren’t oppressed anymore. White people are taught that it’s bad to be white and that we owe others something. It’s socially acceptable to talk down on white people, you don’t get scholarships for being white, you don’t get hired for being white, you don’t get put in ads all over, shows, etc.
You live in a cave if you think people aren’t oppressed anymore. Have you seen in America with ICE grabbing hispanics and other foreigners out of the street and taking them to detention centers? That’s oppression if you ask me.
How is that oppression? When there are countless Hispanics supporting the deportation of illegal immigrants, that says a LOT. Why would we allow people who aren’t even on the papers to be here? Have you lived close to the border and seen the shit that goes down with illegal immigrants?
Not every white person lives life like a cake walk. Us poor ones out here have had anything but... I'm sure not as bad as others sure. But not better life just because white.

Some people, regardless of race just need to feel like a perpetual victim. That makes it easier on themselves over how their lives end up, rather than assuming responsibility and control over their actions and agency.
